Talking to Comic Book Resources, the writer of the upcoming Earth 2 series (James Robinson) had this to say about his take on Alan Scott. "Alan Scott really is the big guy of Earth-Two. Quite literally. He's very tall, he's dynamic, he's charismatic and he's also the bravest, most gallant man on the planet. He's like the great knight defending the Earth. He would die for his planet, he would die for his people. He is the epitome of what a hero should be. And I think even if he wasn't that way when he first began in the 1940s, he is kind of evolved to that in terms of his place in the Justice Society. I have always felt that he was that character and I have tried to keep that spirit and element of him alive." He goes into much more detail about his plans for this alternate world, so be sure to click on the link below to check it out. For now, here is the debut of Scott on the cover of Earth 2 #3.

What do you guys think of this look for the character? Sound off with your thoughts in the usual place! The first issue of Earth 2 from James Robinson and Nicola Scott goes on sale in May.

Prefer the red and brown with the cape. Surprised they went with the Kingdom Come look.

That's...pretty cool, actually. Doesn't exactly fit for the past version of the character, of course, but it will depend on what the background of the character will be this time. At least it has a nice design, still.

Looks pretty cool. Love the color and the effects going on in the pic. Yeah, who knows how they've gone about describing Scott's background. But I was never really fond of the original suit anyway.

Gosh, I remember when the entire DCU was filled with "what a hero should be."

You realize Green Lantern 1 is still 180 million away from breaking even right?

I don't understand why Earth-Two needs Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman when it's focusing on these other heroes in their primes. It makes things very confusing.

with the flaming skull in the corner, and him screaming madly while he also looks like he's on fire, I'm getting a Nic Cage vibe from this.

Remaking him after the Hal Jordan model is a huge mistake. HE was the original. Now he looks like just another one of the corps. No thanks.

You realize you don't know one damn thing about how a movie studio turns a profit?

Theaters keep HALF the ticket sales. That's how they cover operating costs and make their $$

so a movie with a 200 Million budget needs to Gross 400 million at the Box office just so any investors don't take a loss.

Do some research, it might help you avoid sounding like an ignorant fool in the future.

Good design from what I can see, similar to the Kingdom Come uniform. Alan Scott was always my favorite GL. He's more of a badass than Hal or the main universe GLs. If you want this Earth 2 to ne somewhat true in terms of comic book history, you need the Trinity. It's where they started.

I think this looks too much like Hal Jordan when he was possessed by Parallax. That was my first thought, then I checked. It's almost identical.

Listen you pile.

Movie theaters over seas often keep More than 50% of ticket sales.

With currency exchange rates, and distribution costs the take from some foreign markets can be as low as 20% of theater ticket price.

Movie budgets often don't include the marketing costs that can reach 30 million or more for a film of green lanterns status. Green Lantern's Marketing campaign was reported to cost 100 million.

This Film is is a deep dark financial hole.

The Hollywood Reporter stated that Green Lantern needed to make 500 million to be considered financially solid.

Finally! Alan Scott needed a new costume more then any other comicbook character.

The new costume looks similar to the one Alan Scott wore in kingdom come.

Not Bad, always thought Golden Age Green Lantern could use more green, but I kinda miss the cape.

Well this costume change was very much needed. The old Allan Scott looked like he had raided his aunt's costume trunk in the attic.

It never worked for me unless the intent was to make him look like a silly asshole in a Mardi Grass get up.
