• While I have a feeling we may have already heard this (either from a previous screening or someone involved with the film) there was indeed a three breasted woman in the footage shown, and you may be relieved to hear that she this wasn't censored or covered up in any way.
• The next scene featured Kate Beckinsale (Lori, Quaid's wife) and Colin Farrell (Douglas "Doug" Quaid/Hauser), in which he tells her about taking out the men we see attempting to arrest him in the trailer. As they embrace, she starts to choke him, eventually resulting in the duo crashing through a window and fighting in the apartment (it is at this point she adopts an English accent, although it was hard to tell whether or not she had one before attempting to take Quaid out).
• As the scene draws to a close, she reveals that she's only there to keep an eye on Quaid and take him out should it become necessary. She tells him this after he manages to get the upper hand and holds a gun to her head. Quaid then makes his escape, running through the city (taking out what appeared to be a robotic police officer in the process). This all looked great, and the city was completely convincing.
• We were then shown an unfinished scene that saw Quaid running out into traffic, eventually being picked up by Jessica Biel's Melina. From here, we saw snippets of a very exciting chase sequence, which culminated in Farrell dropping the vehicle in mid-air and pulling back up at the last minute, causing destruction beneath them. The special effects were spectacular.
• The next scene featured a confrontation with Harrym (Quaid's best friend) who tries to convince him that he has to shoot Melina in order to wake up - he's still in the Recall. She pleads with him, and he comes to his senses, taking out more of the police officers in a thrilling shoot-out.
• At this point, we see various snippets of footage, including Bryan Cranston as the villainous Vilos Cohaagen (it appears he'll have a much meatier role to sink his teeth into after a disappointingly brief appearance in
John Carter). We also see Quaid looking at a recording he seemingly have made before his memory was wiped, telling himself that his face and memories are not his own. We then see him on the subway, with his face changing to several different identities, before the footage came to an end.
• To put it simply,
Total Recall looks fantastic. The special effects are top notch, the actors all seem to be right for the roles they've been selected for, and it looks set to be a one hell of an exciting watch. As someone who has yet to watch the original in its entirety, I can't wait to see this, and see no reason why lovers of the original won't also enjoy it.
