Two More Viral Videos For THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN Featuring Doctor Connors

Two creepy new viral videos for The Amazing Spider-Man feature a slightly deranged Doctor Connors as he's clearly passed the point of having tested his serum (which ultimately transforms him into the Lizard) on himself! Check it out.

The Amazing Spider-Man is the story of Peter Parker (Garfield), an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben (Sheen) and Aunt May (Field). Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy (Stone), and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets. As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents' disappearance - leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr Curt Connors (Ifans), his father's former partner. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors' alter-ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero.

The next stage of The Amazing Spider-Man's viral campaign has kicked off over at Oscorp Industries, and with it comes two more videos featuring Rhys Ifans as Doctor Curtis Connors. It would appear that he has tested the serum on himself, and these brief videos give us an idea of what we should expect from both the actors performance and the character as he begins his transformation into the Lizard.

STARRING:

Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man
Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy
Rhys Ifans as Curt Connors/The Lizard
Martin Sheen as Uncle Ben
Sally Fields as Aunt May
Denis Leary as George Stacy

RELEASE DATE: July 3rd, 2012.

I like how his head is going in movements of a lizard while he's getting nervous. kinda like what webb said when he said garfield wanted his peter parker to mimic the movements of a spider maybe Ifans is doing the same.

Decent acting, yes.. These just seem a little too obvious and in your face though. Kind of like a pre-amp video before some kind of coaster attraction, ya know? Kool video and all, I know it's just a viral. Maybe I'm just nit picking.. I for one am excited to see how this film turns out!

That little "look" he gives at the end of the second one definitely looks like a lizard darting it's view from one object to another. He looks creepy and uncomfortable which is a good thing. Glad it's realistic.

How about you dedicate an article to that video instead of posting it around other articles?

He's a good Connors -- but the face of The Lizard is hit-or-miss with me.

@blvdnoise: My thoughts exactly. In the end, this viral video isn't really doing much to bring people into the theater. Their recent trailers and extended footage are a different story though. I'm just happy that they're putting the time into doing this stuff for the fans. Just a little extra fun, that's all it is.

*these viral videos,

not "this viral video".

Also, I do recall Marc Webb saying that Ifans brings a quiet sophistication to the role. I think that from what we've seen, his description sounds accurate.

Superbat77, I know, Lizard with no snout = angry, angry fanboys... Cap's ears don't show = angry, angry fanboys... Bane who looks nothing like Bane = applause and praise and concession. Fanboys are silly.

@durf I think after they make the Venom movie, they should have Spiderman and Venom team up against Carnage. I would have uncontrollable nerdgasms if I got to see that.

And I agree with others, Scorpion and Shocker would be the sheezy.

I have a feeling that Connors doesn't die if that's true than the lizard could be in the sequel which would introduce kraven. He could be there to hunt spiderman and want to hunt the lizard just for fun.
I would like to see scorpion done semi realistic not in green spandex but instead have like a doc ock type tail. Spidermans got great villains
