The last time we saw Merle Dixon, he has been left on handcuffed to a roof by Rick Grimes with a group of walkers quickly closing in. The survivors did go back for him, but all that remained was a severed hand. Despite appearing as a figment of Daryl's imagination in season two, fans have been left wondering just when he'll return and what state he will actually be in. Thanks to Walking Dead News, we now know that he'll be returning without a hand, but WITH one nasty looking prosthetic in its place.


This set photo also seems to confirm that Merle will be a part of the Governor's group. Rick and the gang had best watch out! The Walking Dead will return to the small screen this Fall.

Merle will be in helicopter that we all saw in the first season and in the second season finale. It will crash in the forests where Rick and the rest of the cast are in.

thats the one thing i hate about CBM anything walking dead related they love to spoil even in the headlines. everytime theres a WD article on this site its a spoiler i didnt even want to see, i had no idea merle was coming back before i came here, thanks again a holes

Rick'll probably lose his hand...it would be a nice surprise (not nice, but good to keeping with the source material). They've said they will not water down the governor storyline. So if they keep to the comics...Rick will lose a hand, Michonne will get raped by the governor, the governor will lose an eye, hand, and penis because of it, and Lori, Judith, Herschel, Herschel's kid will all be killed by the governor...and we know his storyline will span 2 seasons so the siege will likely take place in season 4.

Seaborne, I do see your point, but you guys make it in the wrong way. It's like you forget you're on the internet where shit like this lurks around every corner. If ever you get spoiled by something on the internet, especially on a site whose only purpose is the coverage of all things related to comics translating to film, you've none to blame but yourself. Josh could've done a better job trying to hide it, but in his defense Rooker has even publicly stated he'll be back this season. Between that and the fact that as a viewer it should have been obvious it was only a matter of time before he returned, and it isn't really a spoiler at all. The spoiler is in the image, which I won't ruin for you because you could have easily skipped it without examining.

I stumble into spoilers all the time, but I don't complain about it. I could easily avoid major media sites altogether and never be spoiled, but instead I choose to browse.

I'm not to excited about the possibility of Rick losing his hand. Tv is a different medium and I just don't think having a major character lose a hand works on tv. See arrested development.

Remember, once it's lost the actor and the character have to keep it lost for the rest of the entire series! On tv, that's not the same as a comic book run...
