The Amazing Spider-Man is the story of Peter Parker (Garfield), an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben (Sheen) and Aunt May (Field). Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy (Stone), and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets. As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents' disappearance - leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr Curt Connors (Ifans), his father's former partner. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors' alter-ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero.

STARRING:

Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man
Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy
Rhys Ifans as Curt Connors/The Lizard
Martin Sheen as Uncle Ben
Sally Fields as Aunt May
Denis Leary as George Stacy

RELEASE DATE: July 3rd, 2012.

@NinjaJesus I wouldn't say webbing is uneven, more that it appears to follow his cheek bones and facial structure.

Poster is ok, I prefer my more classic spider-man poses on my posters.

1 minor gripe with this poster, and might just be me but they don't look like they were both there for this photo, Gwen seems further back and looks to be looking past rather than at Spider-man

That's quite unique, and I like it. I hope they don't exploit the romance too much in it, though...but then again, with someone like Marc Webb behind the movie, I believe such aspect should be handled well. I just wish it doesn't take like most parts of the movie.

Agreed. Looks like shes looking at his nose.

The raimi suit had slight curves in the detailing so that it looked like webs like in the comics. This detailing looks like squares. Not a deal breaker. Just pointing it out.

I dont know if this is important but this is a review:

-It's better than Spidey 2, on par with The Avengers
-Andrew Garfield is the perfect Peter Parker, he has the gift of creating emotions into the viewers, sadness, joy. He's funny, he has a dark side, but he's also fragile. A very complex character.
-Stone is also the perfect Gwen Stacy, albeit her clothes are a bit strange (I think that's because it looks too comic-like)
-Talks about Rhyn Ifans, Martin Sheen and Dennis Leary, and says that

-There are three POV sequences, all of them are great.
-The humor of the movie is pretty good, and he specially enjoyed the subway scene, where

,comparing it with a scene of a Charles Chaplin's movie. Also, Spidey is confirmed to laugh at his opponents a lot.
-Very clever writing and humor, with a lot of drama and dark moments
-The aspect of the Lizard is disappointing. Although is better than the Green Goblin suit from the first movie, it's the weakest part of the movie. Not the character, he talks only about the CGI of the Lizard.
-Another weak part is that it doesn't have too many moments where you get chills (he talks about Webb not being Nolan, and Horner not being Zimmer or Williams).

So that was from the boring as heck Japan Preimire. But we now know how good this will be, im pumped.

@AgentBarton Interestingly, I was worried that there wouldn't be any "chills" moments mainly based on what we've heard of the score so far.

@ Owlman

IT's going to be a good ROMANCE. Because, Marc WEBB is known for that...he will make all your Men cry in your seats when she dies in the second movie.

500 Days of Summer was a great flick....Webb knows how to build character development...which is why I'm giving this movie a midnight showing for myself. IT's totally worth it.

Hopefully, (keeping figures crossed)...This will erase Toby Maguire out of my head.
