After working with Christopher Nolan on Batman Begins, The Dark Knight and this July's The Dark Knight Rises, Hans Zimmer looks set to score Man of Steel for Zack Snyder and Warner Bros.

Showblitz reports that Hans Zimmer has been hired by Warner Bros. and Zack Snyder to score next June's Man of Steel. He was recently nominated for an Academy Award after working on Inception, and will be known to comic book fans for also teaming with director Christopher Nolan (who is producing the highly anticipated Superman reboot) on his Batman trilogy. There had been rumours to this effect in the past, although many assumed that Snyder would re-team with composer Tyler Bates who he worked with on Dawn of the Dead, 300, Watchmen and Sucker Punch. Do you think Zimmer is the right man for the job or should Snyder have stuck with Bates? Sound off with your thoughts in the usual place.

STARRING:

Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman
Amy Adams as Lois Lane
Kevin Costner as Jonathan Kent
Diane Lane as Martha Kent
Michael Shannon as Zod

RELEASE DATE: June 14th, 2013.

Isn't it strange how Tyler Bates is not scoring this, even thoughhe has scored all of Snyder's other films. And Zimmer just happens to be Nolan's composer?
Kind of hands on, isn't he?

Besides, Dubstep was ultimately shite, anyway. Sure, it's immediacy is badass, but it wears of after two riffs and then it doesn't go anywhere.
"music of this generation which is better than the past"
The music of this generation is the worst it's been, since before the 20th century, like most cultures of lack of of this generation. Sorry. 'Nother pet hate.
Besides it's the last generation, now. The generation of the nougties. Welcome to the new.

Not too thrilled about this. Zimmer is a good composer, but few of his works have ever really been that enthralling or memorable to me.

Still, lets see how he does.

Very cool but I do hope at some point they do use the music from the original Superman. That score is a classic.

Good! It will be nice! I like watchmen and 300's music but the tone of it is not that right for superman. This, this is right!

Sweet! this would be awsome, I have been a fan of Zimmer for a long time (The Batman Trilogy I feel is some of his lesser work.) I could so see something like this for Superman! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wFpZPZ_g4Hw&feature=related

Dev7@ No, you're thinking of James Newton Howard who partnered with Zimmer for the Batman scores. He's a lot worse than Zimmer. Although he did reprise the John Williams Superman theme in the Green Lantern, if I remember correctly.
