The graphic novel takes place in an alternate universe which gives DC an opportunity to retell Batman's origin story in a completely different way (as they did with Superman: Earth One). I read that in this Bruce has a brother who witnessed their parents death and is tramatized by it as well.

Did really enjoy Earth One Superman regardless of the poor mans Lobo and rushed ending, this looks to be worth a pick up.

It's Gary Frank. That's enough to make me buy this. Sure enough, Johns can also nail the story, though.

I'm loving the art for this and the story sounds interesting.

Going by the description and panels, I think Alfred will almost act as an antagonist in this.

He's going to do whatever it takes to make sure Bruce Wayne is safe i.e. doing his best to prevent Bruce from becoming Batman.
