"I don't know," Marc Webb told
Entertainment Weekly when he was asked about whether or not he will return to helm a follow-up to
The Amazing Spider-Man.
"I've said this before, but it's like asking a woman who's just given birth if she wants to get pregnant again. You know, I need to nurse the baby for a little while." A sequel to this July's movie may not be the only film Andrew Garfield's Peter Parker/Spider-Man appears in as rumours continue to run rampant that he will make a cameo in a future
The Avengers installment.
"It certainly would be fun. I can't deny that," added Webb.
"But there are all these twists in Spider-Man. There's a lot to explore before that would probably happen." As for whether he'd like to bring Spider-Woman to the big screen at some point, he said:
"You never know! I don't know if I'd direct it, but I'd certainly see it."
The director has remained fairly noncommittal when asked about returning to helm a sequel to
The Amazing Spider-Man up until this point, although you can hear what he told me about that, as well as the Green Goblin, The Daily Bugle and much more, this Monday in my exclusive interview with the filmmaker.
