COMICS: Marvel To Retell The Origin Of Thanos In THANOS: SON OF TITAN

USA Today have spoken to writer Joe Keatinge about his upcoming series, Thanos: Son of Titan. It will retell the origin story of the Mad Titan as Marvel continue to reintroduce the villain to old and new fans alike following his appearance in the mid-credits scene of Marvel's The Avengers. "It is about how Thanos came to be," Keatinge tells the site about the series he will work on with artist Richard Elson. "I don't go Forrest Gump on it, but aspects of the Marvel Universe have been born that directly turn Thanos into who he is."

Son of Titan will apparently kick off with a much younger version of the villain (before he began his courtship of Death) ahead of the events of Fantastic Four #1 (1961). "He ends up at the point where he's worshiping Death and destroying universes. How do you get to that head space where you're like, 'This is what I want to do with the rest of my life?'" asks the writer. As for what he believes fans find so appealing about the character, he adds: "You don't know anything about this guy. He just looks cool."

Thanos is one of the most egotistical villains out there. He's getting some well deserved attention. One of my favs.
Although, Apocalypse, in his day...was epic.

@IM53 @marvel72- Trust brothers, I would've started a long time ago. Starting with Annihilation Book 1 but I refuse to be $60. Especially if I buy it at that price(which I won't) It'll be on eBay for $15 days later.lol Anyway I'm going to get my fix on the cosmic Marvel starting with Annihilation book 2 & 3. Then the Nova series , War Of Kings, Thanos Imperative, and etc.

Should have sweet talked and bribed with a ton of cash Jim Starlin to come back to Marvel and do this. It's his baby and no one can tell the tale better......or render the story in pictures better for that matter. Everyone else pale in comparison when it comes to Thanos, Adam Warlock, and Mar-Vell.

He's always been my second favorite villian, behind Krona. They're both very similar, but Thanos is like the emo version. Pheonix, Catwoman and Magneto come close behind.

Thanos= favorite villian of all time
Deadpool = favorite character of all time

Thanos has a direct tie to Deadpool and has a hatred for him so much that he will not allow him to die. I am wondering if Way with his shitty writing now will touch on that with the current run so that he'll get his powers back. He hates Deadpool because he believes that Death loves Wade more...kind of a jealousy thing. I love it. LOVE ME SOME THANOS!! Will be picking this up!

For my money the "must reads" are: Captain Marvel #25-#33, Avengers Annual #7 and Marvel Two-In-One Annual #2, and The Death of Captain Marvel Graphic Novel.
