Following the debut of never-before-seen Man of Steel footage (the description of which can be found HERE) and the first teaser poster (take a look at that HERE) we now have some highlights from the Q&A session with director Zack Snyder and star Henry Cavill. There are some very interesting details here, including comments from the Snyder on the possibility of either a Superman/Batman movie or Justice League. Some fans may also be disappointed to learn that the reboot will NOT feature John Williams' iconic score.

• Henry Cavill on what he plans to bring to the Superman legend: "I just wanted to bring as much of the modern Superman into the world. You guys know everything about him, but it's for everyone out there as well who hasn't experienced what Superman can be. With this, hopefully I bring a modern version which everyone can associate with."

"It is pretty intense, I'm not gonna lie," the actor said when talked to the responsibilities which come with the role. "I've just been looking at the trailer and... I get to wear that on my chest. I just really, really hope I've done everything I need to do to please you guys, because this is 100% for you guys. Thanks for the support."

• Director Zack Snyder is asked who would win between Christopher Nolan's Batman and his Superman. "I love Batman, he's awesome, but like, really?"

• Snyder then reveals that the iconic John William score will NOT be featured in Man of Steel. "When we started working on the movie, we decided... we knew the comic book character existed, the movies are there own thing. We had to act as if no film had been made, even though we loved those that had. We had to say 'this is Superman for the first time' in our heads. If you start with that logic you can't then go 'let's just steal the music'."

• After a few other fairly familiar questions, Snyder is asked about the possibility of Justice League and Superman/Batman. "We know that Superman is the jewel in the DC crown and what we're really trying to do is get his house in order - and then, who knows what's possible?"

Well, it's hardly a surprise that Snyder didn't give too much away when asked about Justice League, but his other comments are still interesting. According to some sites (many thanks to Sports Mole for the above quotes) Snyder refused to confirm or deny whether Michael Shannon is playing General Zod. Does the director have a few more surprises up his sleeve? Stay tuned to CBM in the coming weeks and months for further details!

STARRING:

Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman
Amy Adams as Lois Lane
Kevin Costner as Jonathan Kent
Diane Lane as Martha Kent
Michael Shannon as Zod

RELEASE DATE: June 14th, 2013.

The fight goes like this. Before the fight starts his inner morals kick in and he thinks to kill or hurt batman because he can is wrong so turns his back and walks away. As soon as this occurs batman throws a hidden kryptonite infused batarang and throws at supes. supes being as fast as he is catches it unaware its kryptonite infused. He then falls to the floor. Finally batman takes a leap and knocks out the MoS until he's unconsious. Batmans sense of morals kicks in and he doesnt kill him, but hes morals say nothing about having to save a lifeso he leaves supermans weary unconscious body lying there to die. The kryptonite inevadably weakens his body to a point were it gives out and he dies. Leavng batman to look like a boss.

Batman could win. Superman could win. Who really cares, they're best friends!

Anyway, I CANNOT wait for this film! It better be just as good as Superman: The Movie/Superman II: The Richard Donner Cut or BETTER! If it's not, I may be disappointed...

Yeah.
If midget Bane can beat the shit out of Bale's Batman then Superman wins. But in the comics Batman is more smart and strong so he can win.

Must be frustrating for a director to be asked if his movie is a smaller part of a bigger picture.

The fact that people are even having this discussion is only further proof of why DC is so [frick]ing lame. In no other universe with sensible writing would a normal human be able to so often defeat a living god like being superpowered by the sun's energy. But because DC writers have established a long standing tradition of making Superman totally [frick]ing stupid against Batman's overused trick of exploiting kryptonite gloves, bullets, etc. do dummy fanboys even entertain the idea that Batman should defeat the greater superhero the world has ever seen.

stupid question about "batman vs superman". Just plain stupid. Superman can fry batman literally just using heat vision....can we just pleeeease pass this stupid question already? Everyone who asks this question just wants to express that batman can beat superman bacause "he is batman."
RamonSuarez
RamonSuarez - 7/14/2012, 6:09 PM
And no, Nolan's Batman ISN'T the comic book Batman.

First off, the comic book Batman is the world's greatest detective. Nolan's Batman can't even find Joker after weeks of hiding.

Second off, the comic book Batman is among the world's greatest scientist. Nolan's Batman needs Lucious Fox to do his science work for him.

@RoamSuarez I agree. Superman can't and shouldn't be able to be beaten, especially by a mere mortal man.

Any version of batman won't even stand a chance to beat superman IF NOT FOR WRITER'S DECISION TO DO SO. Seriously, OMG, bat-god crap, really? Come on! "the batman in the comic book shouldn't be taken lightly." I call it funny! Let me say this very gently. If superman flies to Gotham and finishes all the owls (burn them into ashes and whatnot.) it might just take one second to do so, but apparently batman used what? OHE YEAR to do so!
