COMICS: Cullen Bunn And Chris Yost Talk MINIMUM CARNAGE

This October, writers Cullen Bunn and Chris Yost tackle Cletus Cassidy in Minumum Carnage; an event book which will see Scarlet Spider and Venom team-up to take out the classic villain. Hit the jump to read their thoughts on what we should expect from the series.

"Let's face it. They clash straight away," Cullen Bunn told Newsarama when asked about the first meeting between Scarlet Spider and Venom. "I know, it's something of a cliché, but I think we've found a reason that not only makes sense, but it adds a really interesting dynamic to the characters going forward. I don't think these two will ever be playing beer pong together." The last time we saw Carnage, the symbiote had been removed from Cletus Cassidy and he had been carted off to jail. So, does that mean we won't see the insane bad guy wearing the suit Minimum Carnage? "Cletus is still the symbiote," confirms Bunn. "He's just starting to see things in a new light. And he's joining a group of new, murderous friends. There are quite a few supporting characters in the story, some new, some existing. All of them will be somewhat unexpected. They aren't the typical characters you'd expect to join Venom or Scarlet Spider. In the end, though, this is very much the story of three players — Carnage, Venom, and Scarlet Spider. They won't be overshadowed by the supporting cast."

Talk then turned to how Chris Yost and Cullen Bunn are collaborating on the series, with the Yost telling the site the following. "We brainstorm and outline together. We write the Alpha and Omega issues together. With Venom and Scarlet Spider, we're writing our own stuff but keeping each other heavily involved so it all works well together. I think it'll shake out fairly in the end. And in Scarlet Spider's favor. Writing Carnage is pretty fun, too." The duo were then quizzed on what exactly makes Carnage such an effective villain, with Bunn saying, "I think Carnage should come across as one of the absolute most vile villains in the Marvel Universe. There's nothing he won't do. He's scary as hell to me. Adds Yost, "Yeah. Agreed. If you get captured by Doctor Doom, you're in big trouble. If you get captured by Carnage, you're just dead, with the possible exception that he tortures you first." Are you guys looking forward to the series? Who do you think will come out on top in the battle between Scarlet Spider, Venom and Carnage? Sound off with your thoughts in the usual place!

Venom has been a pretty awesome series so far. I never would have thought I'd be able to get into a spin-off centered on Flash Thompson, but I often enjoy this more than Amazing Spider-man.

I like Venom and Scarlet Spider better than Amazing Spider-Man right now because Daniel Slot is a crappy writer.

@dunejedi1 No one ever gets killed in comics! The funniest part is when fanboys go "I wish blah blah blah would die, and then they can bring him/her back in 6 months." Death is only final for parental figures and popular Walking Dead characters!

He got torn in half by the Sentry.

Which still 100% happened, I beleive. Cletus with the symbiote apparently doesn't have any legs.

Only when he was rejoined with the symbiote, did he regrow them. Which kinda makes him an interesting mirror for Flash Thompson/Venom.

@Dunejedi1 Carnage came back in the very awesome 'Carnage; Family Feud' turns out the symbiote kept Kasady alive after The Sentry ripped him in half and he was 'rescued' by a shady guy called Michael Hall who wanted to use the symbiote in his tech.
