As you are sure to have heard by now, Tony Scott was identified yesterday as having committed suicide after jumping from the Vincent Thomas Bridge, which spans San Pedro and Terminal Island in Los Angeles. He directed many films over the years, including
Top Gun,
True Romance,
Enemy of the State,
Man On Fire,
The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3 and
Unstoppable. He also produced one of the latest films directed by his brother, Ridley,
Promethus, not to mention many, many others. Unfortunately, Tony Scott never got the chance to helm a comic book movie, although he was at one time attached to
24: The Movie and the big screen adaptation of Mark Millar and Steve McNiven's
Nemesis (the rights are still held by his production company and Joe Carnahan (
