STAR WARS EPISODE II And III To Be Released In 3D Back To Back In 2013

STAR WARS EPISODE II And III To Be Released In 3D Back To Back In 2013

After Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace made an additional $44 million earlier this year when it was re-released in 3D, LucasFilm have confirmed the release dates of both Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith in the format.

An unimpressive 3D conversion failed to make The Phantom Menace any more bearable, but it was successful enough to warrant the re-release of the other two prequels. It has been confirmed by the official Star Wars Facebook page that Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith are now set to be re-released on the big screen in 3D back-to-back on September 20th, 2013 and October 11th, 2013 respectively. Now that the prequels are out of the way, here's hoping the original trilogy won't be too far behind. Even if you're not a fan of 3D, many Star Wars fans will have never had the chance to see the original (and far superior) trilogy on the big screen. The logo below was also released.

Im excited about this, ever since they announced they were gonna release all 6 films in 3D. Its fun to relive them in theaters again. Im one of the old-school Star Wars fans, the pre-1997 re-release fans. All I want is a Blu-Ray of the original Star Wars. Thats it!

I'm excited. I saw The Phantom Menace earlier in the year. The only Star Wars movie I had seen previously in the cinema was Revenge of the Sith so I'll be there for the prequels and the originals too.

Good idea to do back to back release as episode 2 was so poor, 3 will be amazing in 3d. I used the convertor on my tv and it came out well on that, hopefully they do a good job. Bring on the originals!

the lightsabre duels are the only decent thing to come out of the prequel trilogy.

Cool. Revenge of the Sith is in my top 5 favourite movies, so I may break my "no 3D rule" to see it again.

Nope. I'm done with Star Wars films. TPM 3D was the first time I seen it since 1999 – and I totally understand the hate. It truly is unbearable and the 3D conversion was nauseating. But I liked the Darth Maul glasses I got.

All the OTT choreographed fight scenes mean nothing when I feel no emotion for the characters involved. That is why the Original Trilogy had better fight scenes. I said it!

Oh jeez. Here we go. I didn't even bother seeing Faggot Menace in 3D. Lol. But I will probably see AOTC and ROTS. Can't wait for ESB to come out.

However, I'll just leave this here:

Actually if you take all the Anakin/Padme scenes out of Clones and Sith they are pretty good, even if they make no sense.

Phantom Menace on the other hand...

Revenge of the sith I'll see for sure, a lot of light saber battles in that one.

When I saw a Bosses Only screening of ROTS at Pixar studios in 2005 after meeting Anthony Daniels, the first thing I said to myself when I saw the opening was "This space battle would look awesome in 3-D".

I'd probably go see Empire Strikes Back if it were released in 3D which is probably unlikely or far off considering Lucas' hatred for the original trilogy.

I like the prequels, and the originals.

The originals aren't THAT much better than the prequels people, and I think the prequels get way too much hate
