According to various reports, World War Z is in a great deal of trouble. With Drew Goddard (The Cabin in the Woods) brought in to rewrite the final act of the film, it was recently rumoured that director Marc Forster only has 52 minutes of usable footage (with just a singular action sequence). Hence the need for some extensive reshoots! Well, in an interview with Hey U Guys, star Brad Pitt downplayed these rumours and assured fans that they are doing everything possible in order to make sure the film lives up to expectations. To hear what the actor had to say about Killing Them Softly, be sure to click on the link below to watch the interview in full.

"Well, it's just a big monster of a film. It's just got to work a certain way and we gotta fix it up. That's all. We get it right and it's gonna be great. It's not unusual. We can do better and this is a monster of a film so there's a lot of working parts to it."

Aha, Brad! Whatever you say:) In other words Marc Forster can't make and handle big production movies, that's why Quantum of Solace sucked balls!

Drew Goddard? Sweet, hopefully this doesn't turn into a piece of crap.

Quantum of Solace sucked because it was filmed during the writers strike and on Forster and Craig were legally allowed to work on the script.

Quantum of Solace was awesome / meh at least they are fixing the problems unlike most films they just pump out and expect people to love complete garbage

@BossWalsh I never had any issues with QOS, but most people hated it for some reason. Though it could've been better with some more work on the script :)

@boekelaar @BossWalsh Quantam of Solace was great it just wasnt a great stand alone. The villain and his actual goal was confusing and all over the place but the main point of the film (at least wha i took away from it) was Bond's emotional struggle after the death of Vesper and i though they nailed that

Im actually reading the book now, I have high hopes for this film! Im also a huge Lost fan, so Fox being in this is a plus for me!

Here's hoping they get it right!

@cipher:
Agreed, man. QoS gets ragged on all the time, but I think it's a great film. I never watch it on its own - I watch it as a follow-up to Casino Royale. Like you said, I don't think it's meant to really be viewed as a stand-alone film... But Royale/QoS together make for a great time :)

At least Lindeloff has been replaced.

When he was brought on is when I lost all interest, but with this news of his replacement I can feel some optimism stirring.

I can just imagine how bad his third act was, his pitch was probably something like "LOST plus Prometheus- with zombies!"

the thing is Brad HANDPICKED Marc for this project, so..once the director screwed up, the star couldn't do anything but covered things up for him.

i hope they would fix this.

What I gather from all these rewrites and reshoots is...

They are spending Millions of dollars to stray from the plot of the novel but they don't even know what they are straying to.

Nice. Being dishonest to the source material, just for the sake of being dishonest to the source material.

I was under the impression that World War Z did not have a plot. Isn't it a collection of smaller stories?
