COMICS: 'Marvelman' Set To Finally Return To The Marvel Universe Next January?

No, it has nothing to do with Mark Millar and Leinil Yu's series! Instead, it's thought that this teaser heralds the return of 'Marvelman' to the Marvel Universe. Mysteriously, this is the first one-word teaser not to include any mention of a creative team. Check it out!

Following the news that Marvel filed for new comic book and action figure "Miracleman"/"Marvelman" trademarks last week, it seems like the legal issues which have plagued the publisher since they reacquired the rights in 2009 have finally cleared up. This, and the promise of a major announcement at the New York Comic Con (described as, "the biggest new launch of 2013"), have resulted in our friends over at Newsarama coming to the very plausible conclusion that the following teaser has something to do with the return of 'Marvelman'. What do you guys think? Check out the teaser below and sound off with your thoughts and theories in the usual place!

I first thought Squadron Supreme when I saw the "Superior" teaser.

Marvel would screw up with the character he shouldn't be in their universe.

yes and no. always open to new interpretations of great characters (and miracleman is awesome), but very very worried that he won't thrive in the Marvel U. I was intrigued by Sentry, but he's sitting quietly on the back burner for the time being. i don't want the same to happen to miracleman.

@Alreg @Equinox Gotta agree. Marvel can't handle god like heros like DC(I give them credit with thor tho) which it was best for marvel to stick to more earth based heros.

Quesada is a cherry picker. I hate his stupid non smoking face and shitty art. Everything he does is crap. I literally threw his Daredevil run in the garbage. All those stupid flying strings coming from his billy clubs all over the page still irks me. Also trying to rip of David McKean in the Echo story topped it all off for me.
Now when I see his work, I puke in my mouth.

Seems like a huge leap to assume this teaser is related to Marvel Man. A relatively unknown and obscure charactor to the casual CB fan to use the phrase: "Biggest launch of 2013". I was of the train of thought of Squadron Supreme as well, but some other sites are claiming this could be a new Spider-Man title.

@ nomis/cipher

issue 15 was some pretty dark shit featuring bullying, rape & the holocaust of london.

mark millar tries abit with rape in kick ass 2 & some of the shit he pulled off in nemesis brother & sister forced sex & she fell pregnant with her brother's baby.

do you guys remember the british monthly comic "warrior" it was black & white that featured miracleman my dad has got all of them,up in the loft of my parents house.

Let's see what Marvel does with Miracleman. I read the 80's run of Miracleman, I believe I still have it in my collection. Have to dig it out and read them again, but I remember how graphic and adult oriented it was. As good as American comics was in the 80's this stuff was a level above in content.

Actually Miracleman may fit better in the Ultimate universe than the 616 Marvel universe.

@ earzmundo

slightly different, watchmen should of been left as the 12 issue limited series or the graphic novel however you may of read it.dc just tried cashing on the watchmen,if alan moore was involved with before watchmen i would of read them.

many companies have written & released miracleman/marvelman comics now its marvel's turn they own the rights & we all know moore would never work for marvel so let another decent writer write him.
