Amy Adams On Coming Face To Face With Michael Shannon's 'General Zod' In MAN OF STEEL

Sharing her thoughts on acting alongside Henry Cavill's 'Clark Kent'/'Superman', Amy Adams (who will play 'Lois Lane' in Zack Snyder's highly anticipated reboot) also confirms that she shares a couple of scenes with Michael Shannon's "terrifying" 'General Zod'.

"You feel like you're in scenes with Superman," teased Amy Adams in a recent interview with MTV News when asked about Henry Cavill's performance as Man of Steel's titular hero. "He is completely invested and yoked and he just really took the role very seriously and yeah, he's fantastic, he's just so yum. He's the nicest guy, aside from the face."

When the interviewer joking recalled finding it hard to look away from him while interviewing the actor for Immortals, Adams added: "Really? Whenever I had to look into his eyes I would just start giggling. I was like 'Oh I gotta stop this.'" However, far more interesting are her comments about Michael Shannon's 'General Zod'. It sounds as if we can definitely expect the two of them to cross paths at some point! "He's fantastic. He's terrifying. I only had a couple scenes with him." In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Henry Cavill) is a young twenty-something journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond his imagination. Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Diane Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Kevin Costner), Clark discovers having extraordinary abilities means making difficult decisions. When the world is in dire need of stability, an even greater threat emerges. Clark must become a Man of Steel, to protect the people he loves and shine as the world’s beacon of hope – Superman.

Im sure Henry is an awesome Superman, but I can't help of feeling a tad sorry for him. Acting alongside Shannon and Adams must have been pretty demoralizing. Those two have chops on the level Cavill can only dream of. Then again, he's Superman and they aren't. LOL.

@thewonderer Those two may be more famous, but they don't have the acting chops of Adams and Shannon. Crowe can be great, but Shannon is a notch above. If you've seen his more recent work you'd know. In fact, I can't wait to see Shannon take Crowe to school in their scenes. And I love Crowe!

I think this film could bring back something that all Superman adaptations since Superman II have been lacking - likability. I think that's a very important trait for Superman's character to have, the world around him can be as dark as you want, and he can face threats that might really demoralize him, but he must represent hope, and I think Cavill will play him in a way that audiences can't help but really like him, and that even with all his incredible powers he still seems like an underdog and audiences feel compelled to root for him.
Cavill seems to be a very likable person, and hopefully that comes across a lot in his portrayal of Superman.

@GordonShumway I disagree with you. Cavill is up and coming to us in the States here but he's got acting chops. As a matter of fact, of all the guys that have played superman in a movie. He will be the best actor of them all.

Wow. Amy obviously wants to DO Superman! But then again, who doesn't? LOL (Some guys included!)

When I thought about Shannon as Zod I figured he'd not only be menacing, but also terrifying. I mean, should we expect anything less after seeing him in Boardwalk Empire?! He's so creepy! But comes out as the complete opposite in interviews! That guy is just freakin talented.

Weird. Martha Kent is hotter than Lois Lane ;P

I know they are kinda old-up Diane Lane but idk...I think while watching this movie I'm STILL going to get more enjoyment from watching Diane Lane than Amy Adams.
