COMICS: The New Spidey Locks Lips With Mary Jane On THE SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN #2 Cover

Revealed at today's "Marvel NOW!: Join the ReEvolution" panel at the New York Comic Con, we have a first look at Ryan Stegman's The Superior Spider-Man #2 cover. What's the big deal? Well, it features the NEW Spidey locking lips with Mary Jane Watson!

As we told you yesterday, the new "Marvel NOW!" Spider-Man series will NOT feature Peter Parker behind the mask. As if that wasn't enough to rile up fans of the character, it was also revealed by series writer Dan Slott that the new Spider-Man's love interest will be none other than Peter's former wife, Mary Jane Watson! Needless to say, The Superior Spider-Man has not been met with a positive reaction (more details can be found by clicking HERE), and Ryan Stegman's cover for issue #2 won't do anything to calm down those fretting about the dark direction that Marvel will be taking the iconic character in next January.

I still say it's a red herring, and we'll have Peter. That even looks like the way his face is drawn, the profile looks the same. But maybe that's the point.
Either way, we know it isn't going to be a 616 version of Miles Morales.

Or it could be the 616 version of Miles mOrales... at the ending of Spider-Men, Peter googled him and looked surprised. Maybe he's another clone? Since the whole Spider-Man story seems to be getting all 90's-ish (agh...), I wouldn't be surprised

I'm pretty sure Kaine is still going to be Scarlet Spider. Unless there are plans for Scarlet Spider to be canceled.

If done done right I don't mind a costume change. But taking thr Spider-Man comics down a dark road, putting claws on Spider-Man, and replacing Peter Parker is ridiculous! Even having MJ Watson as the new Spider-Man's love intrest doesn't make me want to by this title.

Kaine is Scarlet and Flash is Venom. I thought it might be Eddie, but he was extremely burned and left with Toxin. My guess is Alpha?

I think Spidey will still be Peter Parker. Only catch there is no Peter, he "dies" in 700. Peter fakes his death to become Spider-Man full time

To everyone: Not kaine, he lives in Houston, Texas, he took up the scarlet spider mantle and protects the people there. Not Flash, he was never bitten by a spider, a symbiote gives him all the powers and abilities, remember that. Not andrew AKA Alpha, he's younger than peter or mj and he has no spider abilities what so ever.
