Christoph Waltz Enters Talks To Join The Cast Of THE MUPPETS 2; Sequel Will Be Set In Europe
Last year, The Muppets was released to a hugely positive reaction from new and old fans alike. James Bobin will return to helm the sequel which will reportedly be set in Europe, while The Green Hornet's Christoph Waltz is now in talks to play an Interpol inspector.
The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Academy Award winning actor Christoph Waltz (Inglorious Basterds, Django Unchained) has begun negotiations to join the cast of Disney's The Muppets sequel. According to the site, he'll play an Interpol inspector in the Europe set follow-up, while the studio are also said to be on the hunt for "a Russian femme fatale and a male lead whose intentions are always in question". These are expected to be the few human roles which really stand out in the film that is set to be helmed by James Bobin, who co-wrote the screenplay with Nicholas Stoller. Released last year in North America, The Muppets earned $158 million worldwide and was generally praised by fans and critics alike.
