VIDEO: Free-Runner Brings ASSASSIN'S CREED 3 To Life; Could This Be What We See In The Movie?

Street-stunt performer Ronnie Shalvis brings Assassin's Creed 3's 'Connor' to life by recreating key gameplay sequences from the video game across a woodland course. With a movie on the way starring Michael Fassbender, this may very well give us our first glimpse as to what we should expect!

Thanks to Digital Spy, we have this incredible video starring street-stunt performer Ronnie Shalvis as Assassin's Creed 3's main character, 'Connor'. Wearing a costume designed by freelancer Allison Dredge, the team behind the video (which of course included its creator Devin Graham) actually worked with Ubisoft on which moves and weaponry they would use. As we know, the developers of the hit video game series will play a key creative role in its big screen adaptation, so this may just be our first look at how we'll see the trademark parkour moves recreated in real-life. Michael Fassbender is attached to produce and star, although it's currently unknown whether he will play Altair, Ezio or Connor.

most of it was pretty cool. i feel like this was almost like test footage just to see if what could be done in the game is possible in real life. too mush flipping tho.

BlackFlash - 11/4/2012, 3:10 PM
He was running for a long ass time to catch that horse just so he could do something he could have done right at the beginning, and yes the moment he started jumping off rocks just to make a right turn, I said I hope the movie isn't anything like this.

Too much flipping around for no reason. Good work, but excessive.

I need to see some of that in the next Captain America. Minus the useless flipping.

TheAmazingSpidey63 - 11/4/2012, 3:19 PM
Impressive, at the most. But I agree with the CBMers here that some of those flips off the rocks were unnecessary, really. But I'm sure Ubisoft won't do any of those kind flips and jumps. They're going to stick with their stuff and give us a d@mn good Assassin's Creed film. :)

@Steve - Lmfao!! Jerk. ;P

But yeah. I do wanna give big props to the guy who did all of those parkour moves. Kudos, dude! :)

some of the stuff was unecessary, and didnt make sense to do some things since he was chasing somebody (it was obviously put in to show this guys amazing talents), but I could see the movie using stuff like this. freaking awesome video!!!!! wish i could do that kind of stuff.

FightAs0ne - 11/4/2012, 3:37 PM
Too much damn flipping but other than that pretty cool. Connor is so freaking awesome.

@ATastyBurger Though that was way too long, when it was done I saw it as backstory or a prequel to the US and Connor's history.

This was a good short film. We could see this in the Assassin's Creed movie.

Finished assassins creed 3 earlier today loved it

but judging by Fassbender Unless they restyled Connor or applied heavy makeup to Fassbender it wont be Connor, Unless the movie focused on an older Etzio (AC Revelations) it could be Altair being that he's never shown as being particularly young.

jackdawak - 11/4/2012, 3:42 PM
i know this video was just to showcase all the stunts he can do, but if i was chasing after a horse then i would not be doing unnecessary flips off rocks and stuff wasting time showing off to mother nature and the squirrels...impractical if i see it done in a movie
TheAmazingSpidey63
TheAmazingSpidey63 - 11/4/2012, 3:43 PM
Also, as for Fassbender starring as the lead role in this upcoming Assassin's Creed film, it will most likely be Altair. Fassbender, IMO, definitely looks similar to Altair, but I'm not sure if he'll also play as Connor. Or maybe it's backwards. Still, a good casting choice by Ubisoft. :)

Free running is cool but the unnecessary flips/twists are gratuitous and showy. That said, I hope the doughy fanboys among this site, with asses fused to their pc chairs, do not hate too harshly.

it was a total of 10 sec of footage of him killing 2 guys and 2 minutes of parkour/free running. lame!

CaptainAmerica31 - 11/4/2012, 4:08 PM
Okay the AC movie is gonna be a mind [frick] and there is no way they can make a whole series based on this series of games that come out every year. Just finished AC3 and it was the biggest cliffhanger ever. Some say it's a worse ending then ME3 but I thought it was okay
EdgyOutsider
EdgyOutsider - 11/4/2012, 4:11 PM
Yea, you can't flip in the game. What's the point of the video? Useless flipping? This would make a bad movie seeing how it's only two and a half minutes and it's boring as hell. The first film (should it be a trilogy) is have Altair, then for the second Ezio and for the third Connor.

I haven't played any of the other games because I recently rebought Assassin's Creed (the first one) and I loved it. Gives me hope for a movie and gives me the motivation to play the rest of the series. If a movie is anything like this, it might only make a couple hundred bucks.

Haha The best was when he was flipping over the logs. This was just to showcase parkour. Not impressed at all

Because everyone knows that the most efficient way to catch someone on horseback is to needlessly flip over every twig, branch, and rock in the forest. This comes off as cheesy parkour cosplay.

PistonSmash - 11/4/2012, 5:11 PM
why does this one keep getting so much publicity. It's cool, yea, but it sucks compared to FreddieW's one, that came out before. No, I'm not a fanboy, but this one is just using AC as a publicity jump to showcase his stupid "freerunning" jumping around. The AC part of it is the background and his useless jumps are what they are really trying to showcase.

this was alright but the flipping was to much and annoyed me. how about instead we have it where its actually usefull. like i.e OHHH NO I DONT WANT TO TOUCH WATER LETS JUST FLIP OVER IT AND KEEP RUNNING.

I did fell that there was too much unnecessary flipping. I mean none of the assassins in the games even to flipping that often. In fact the only time i can even think of them doing a flip is when they preform a Leap of Faith.

BATMAN. The guy that has been doing parkour since the 30's. Always though free running would suit his fluid movement.
philshizzle
philshizzle - 11/4/2012, 6:10 PM
I played the first AC and yea... as cool as the Parkour moves are he could have picked up the musket and shot the dude before he rode away. And doing sideways flips for no reaon. And running at a tree and flipping over then changing direction? Seems like a waste.
offintheshower
offintheshower - 11/4/2012, 6:13 PM
I cant see the video on my phone but excessive/unnecessary flips doesn't sound like assassin's creed at all... hopefully it's more like the mini series assassin's creed lineage that was a story by ubisoft about ezio's dad. It was pretty awesome
