when does the avengers 1 come out? hickman's fantastic four run is/was awesome i need this book in my life.

Okay, so far we've had "Red Hulk", "Red She-Hulk", "Protector" and now "Smasher". With all the creative talent at Marvel these are the best names they could come up with of late? Maybe they should pay Stan Lee to come up with a list of random names that they can choose from because they are just not getting it done lately.

Isn't Smasher a long time Imperial Guardsmen. Not that individual, but the title. Just like some of the others have died but are replaced and the new person takes on the same costume and name?

If this is true then I'm okay with the name.

Also Smasher isn't the most original name but neither is Iron Man, Spider Man, Giant-Man, Power man, Wonder Man, or Batman and Superman for that matter. Name doesn't matter, the character matters.

I think Avengers and New Avenger are gunna be the biggest titles of all marvel now. Hickmans doing the series good by bringing back old heros and villians and even creating new heros and villians. So I'm looking forward to both the most.

Temple hit it. The last Smasher died I think during the Annihilation wave. This one is now from earth apparently and an avenger. Maybe she trades spots with Iron Man as he goes into space

Smasher=Ultra Boy.

The Imperial Guard are essentially Marvel's version of the Legion of Super Heroes,which Dave Cockrum drew before getting the X-Men gig with Claremont.
