In an interview with The Financial Times, John Logan has offered a brief update on what exactly we should expect from his screenplay to the highly anticipated follow-up to Skyfall. The recent announcement from Sam Mendes that he won't return to helm another Bond movie clearly hasn't slowed down work on James Bond 24 as the report also mentions that Logan was just about to head off for a meeting about the next two instalments in the franchise. "Fleming’s courage in showing Bond’s fear and vulnerability and depression was really interesting and something that a modern audience can accept," he said of building on the complexities of Bond's character after Skyfall. "I think Skyfall demonstrated that they want more layers to that character. And those are the layers that Fleming wrote." Are you looking forward to the next movie? He would be a suitable replacement for Mendes? Be sure to sound off with your thoughts in the usual place!

If Craig isn't the best Bond ever, he damn sure as hell has the best Bond movies.

Bond 24...we are a go!

Sad to see M go, she was always my favorite character in these movies.

I'm going to miss Judi Dench and Michael Caine as the parental figures of Batman and James Bond...

Sounds cool. Wanna see more humanity in Bond. What does he fear? (where's scarcrow when you need him)

Daniel Craig has really grown on me. Can't wait for this movie.

Can't wait to see Ralph F. in the role of M. As well as the new Moneypenny and Q.

1) Sean Connery (the first and the best. Dr. No to YOLT the best)
2) Daniel Craig (loved all three movies and can't wait for more)
3) Roger Moore (has some really good ones and some pretty bad ones)
4) Timothy Dalton (both his movies underrated)
5) Pierce Brosnan (Goldeneye and TND his best)
6) George Lazenby (would probably be higher if he did two movies, there was plans he was going to do a revenge plot after OHMSS)

It's interesting that the James Bonds that better displayed Ian Flemings vision were also the less popular until recently: George Lazenby, and Timothy Dalton. I thoroughly enjoyed Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace really disappointed me, and Skyfall left me choked-up at the end because we finally got a 007 flick with that classic Albert Broccoli feel-it felt like the James Bond that I grew up with. It seemed to be a brilliantly accidental formula of a dapper, but serious Bond, with the classic feel of "Goldfinger", and the dark complexities of Ian Fleming's character. I can stomach a different director under two conditions: They keep the same production, writing, and cinematography, and they get a director who will keep it the same tone and not turn it into a "Bourne Bond" like "Quantum" was.

Some of the people who hate on Skyfall, calling it overrated or a Home-Alone ripoff or whatever, just don't seem to understand that it was an ingenious celebration of the 50 years of Bond while still remaining it's own movie. All the nods and allusions to the glory years of Bond worked perfectly in the plot of the movie, especially the ending scene with Moneypenney and the new M. Even to this day, I can't decide which was better, Casino Royale or Skyfall. That in itself is quite an accomplishment after the dissapointing Quantum of Solace

Skyfall was the best Bond movie ever made, so sad to see that Mendes isn't returning.
