AMC's The Walking Dead continues to go from strength to strength after last night's season three finale was seen by 12.4 million viewers (bigger than any other scripted series on broadcast last night). This narrowly beats the previous series high of 12.3 million for February's mid-season premiere. What makes these numbers even more impressive is the fact that it performed so well on not only Easter Sunday, but also at the exact same time that Game of Thrones returned over at HBO. Speaking of which, the third season premiere of that show pulled in 4.4 million viewers, making it the most watched episode of the series ever. What did you watch last night?

Good, the bad written anticlimatic finale, shit show got high ratings, but the well written, nice episode was not as high as that shit. Wtf with people. And yet, game of thrones was worldwide.

I watched The Walking Dead. I thought it was a great episode, maybe not the best finale though. Like, I didn't think it was a better finale then seasons 1 and 2. But I did, however, enjoy the episode. I liked the fact that it ended on more of a somber note, with a little bit of closure given (minus closure on The Governor).

Every finale doesn't have to end with massive amounts of death, and a huge cliffhanger at the end. Granted, there was death, and it was definitely surprising and heart-wrenching. But that's what I love about his show; they constantly take risks and do much different things than the comics, and even different things than what they've previously done on the show. So, I thought it was great. (Just putting this out there, but I think that the first 4 or 5 minutes leading up to the opening was amazing.)

I love this show, but like many others I was extremely disappointed with the finale. The governor just runs off, prison raid was weak and Andrea pausing to have a heart-to-heart with a soon to be zombie (though I really wish she would have lived)...

Coolest part IMO was Carl calling his daddy out.

Well, less people have HBO, thats part of the reason GoT got less views, but i thought walking dead pretty much blew. Ive watched this far so im not gonna abandon the series when season 4 comes, but they need to step up their game.

GoT on the other hand, man im hyped for the rest of the season!

And of course because Walking Dead is popular, we all have to hate on it.

I can't believe the season ended the way it did. All that build up and no payoff with the Governor.

Very disappointing.

@Webhead

Perhaps Carl is so messed up because he saw so much death at an early age, thought his father was dead. Then the guy looking out for his mother and himself (Shane) he had to shoot in the head. His mother dies and again he shot her in the head. Lost his bestfriend Sophia too. His father who is his last family member practically lost his mind. Just think bout his mentality right now...

Too bad most of those 12.4 million were disappointed.

it may of got 12.4 million viewers but i thought it was a bit of a letdown,i expect more out of a season finale.

as for game of thrones good start, wouldn't mind knowing what the time frame is between season 2 & 3 is.

we see john snow go to the wildlings village/camp & we see little dragons at the end of season 2.

start of season 3 we john snow enter the village/camp of the wildlings & the dragons are a lot bigger,so how much time as pass between each season.

@marvel72 I'm a bit confused with this too. But I think Sam and Jon scenes where like a prologue to the season, and after Jon scene maybe it fast forwarded a few weeks, yeah it's confusing. When they get back to jon and sam I hope they are a little ahead of where they were before.

Dragons do grow fast so keep that in mind, its said they are bout the size of a full Grown Dog in This season According to the books. But yalls questions regarding timeline are quite valid.

Just go with it, That's my two cents.

Walking dead was great minus the andrea shit. so glad to see her go, talking to milton instead of working bs, then the whole final goodbye shit blah get it over with already. thought the gov stuff was insane.

guys as far as GoT goes and its timeline its going to jump a bit due to all the different story lines and places. hell books 4 and 5 happen at the same time with different char spread throughout the world.

The season finale was underwhelming, the build all this hype and the episode was OK at best...not even close to feel like it was a finale, honestly, I am not even looking forward to the next episode in October, not even an appropriate cliffhanger delivered. I love the show, but yesterday's episode made me feel like they were insulting my intelligence.
I give the episode credit though, Andrea's death was unexpected, she's always been good killing walkers so I was surprised she got bitten, and Milton was a character the writers actually made us care for, and I thought he died with the dignity he well earned and deserved.
Oh, and the look on Martinez' face when the Governor killed the others was priceless.

Did anyone notice that last night's WD was somewhat religious? Last night's ep called "Welcome to the Tomb" was the 16th episode of it's third season(3:16) which fell on Easter day (Resurrection Day). And, the last image shown in last night's episode was a cross.

Yep. I believe that verse is from Daniel 12:2.
