Could Morris Chesnut Be In The Running To Play BLACK PANTHER For Marvel Studios?

Pure speculation at this point, but Kick-Ass 2 star Morris Chesnut has revealed that it's time for him to "get familiar" with the Black Panther. Could this be an indication that he's in the running to play the character? Read on for details!

Bleeding Cool has spotted the following Tweet from Morris Chesnut, and it MIGHT just be an indication that he's in the running to play Black Panther! Marvel Studios has been trying to put together a movie featuring the character for a long time now (it was reported last year that they were hoping to make T'Challa part of "Phase 2" in 2014), so it's not exactly hard to imagine that we'll see him featured in The Avengers sequel. Is the Kick-Ass 2 actor reading up on the character because Marvel Studios have approached him about the role? It's certainly a possibility, while the fact he posted a link to a Black Panther comic book featuring him alongside Earth's Mightiest Heroes is very intriguing indeed. On the other hand, it could just be that someone told him to check out a few books featuring the King of Wakanda! What do you guys think about this?

Could be an indication of BP appearing in Avengers 2. If so, maybe that could lead to his own spin-off movie if audiences like the character.

I agree with @Sephiroth211

Aldis Hodge fits Black Panther perfectly. Morris Chestnut could play Luke Cage though, or perhaps with some aged-makeup he could play T'chaka.

Definitely thought of him as Luke Cage or Jon Stewart, but I could definitely see him in the role!

Was hoping Aldis Hodge could be him, but it's alright.

They need to make this happen come Phase 3. Its just not fair there hasnt been more happening, I'm thrilled just to even hear any bit of news that its still being worked on and is possible to happen in my lifetime.

Black Panther is one of the avengers Im more interested in, along with Ant-man, and Ive seen this actor on some shows already, so I would be pleased with this choice.

MARVEK, its time for some Black Panther action! either on Avengers 2 or his own movie

A great character. I don't much care who plays him so long as it stays true to the comics and doesn't get embedded in the larger Avenger movie-verse.
