VIDEO GAMES: Leaked PACIFIC RIM Screenshots Look Just As Epic As The Movie

While the following screenshots were reportedly taken from an unfinished version of the video game, there's no doubting that Yuke's take on the Guillermo Del Toro helmed movie looks just as exciting and epic as the live action one. Hit the jump to check them out!

A listing for a Pacific Rim video game first turned up on the Australian Classification Board. Rated M, it will apparently contain moderate impact fantasy violence and an online element, perhaps hinting at an online beat 'em up of some sort (similar to Injustice: Gods Among Us or Mortal Kombat for example). There's currently no word on a release date, although many expect an official announcement to be made this week. Below, you can see a selection of screengrabs which PacificRim.net claim were taken from an unfinished version of the game. Looks pretty awesome!

When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity’s resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. But even the Jaegers are proving nearly defenseless in the face of the relentless Kaiju. On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes—a washed up former pilot and an untested trainee — who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. Together, they stand as mankind’s last hope against the mounting apocalypse.

This is the kind of game that would really benefit from the Kinect.

Sounds like this'll be a downlodable game, just like Yuke's did with Real Steel. And I enjoyed that one a great deal! BRING IT ON!!!

@Bucht
Well I don't actually OWN a Kinect, but the motion technology would emulate the movie.

Movie games are never good. Even the Wolverine Origins, considered the best movie game, had a lot of glitches.

I'll wait and see what happens with this before I make a decision.

THIS is an unfinished version? It looks better than a lot of games that have come out recently. And if it is a Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters type fighting, then sign me up.

This looks awesome!

Hope it has all the other monsters they didnt include in the film.

I remember reading from somewhere that they designed lots of different monsters and the movie contains just maybe ten of them.
