First Trailer For NBC's DRACULA Released

Last night, we got a first look at Jonathan Rhys Meyers as the titular character in NBC's Dracula and now a trailer has been released. The series will apparently see the vampire posing as an American entrepreneur to take revenge on those who cursed him with immortality centuries earlier.

The 10-episode series introduces Dracula as he arrives in London, posing as an American entrepreneur who maintains that he wants to bring modern science to Victorian society. In reality, he hopes to wreak revenge on the people who ruined his life centuries earlier. There’s only one circumstance that can potentially thwart his plan: Dracula falls hopelessly in love with a woman who seems to be a reincarnation of his dead wife.

Wow, that looks rather impressive. Kinda dark for network TV. NBC is rocking it right now. Kinda reminds me of Hannibal. That show is dark as hell. Really really good.

THERE'S ACTION IN THIS!!

OMG. This is gonna be great!!

My only issue with it is that Jonathan Rhys Meyers' American accent sounds.... forced. I would much rather him speak with his British accent.

Since Dracula is naturally European, if I remember correctly, why don't they just let him speak with his accent when he isn't posing as the American??

Whatever. I'm watching this!

The networks are finally waking up and spending the mula in the production departments. Good to see more interesting shows outside of the premium and some basic cable networks.

Should have been on cable at least it would of lasted bit, Hannibals [frick]ing amazing show but it hasn't been renewed yet despite being a good show. Ton of uncertainty around that. Obviously not saying this shows going to be good( it could be don't get me wrong but it could be utter crap too). Despite my reservations about Meyers playing Dracula fingers crossed this is actually good.

I'm very disappointed that this isn't on cable television. We would've gotten more explicit scenes and dialogue... But whatever.

JRM is in this, AND the director of the Tudors? I just hope they don't PG it down for the "family." -_-

And they better not cancel it if its good! NBC is very cancel happy. These are the reasons why I don't like watching basic channel shows. They do quantity over quality.

NBC is making a real effort. Hannibal has been surprisingly graphic. In one episode they were tracking a killer that was creating angel art out of his victims bodies by cutting the skin from their backs and making wings out of them. It was sex while camping.

I'm surprised no one's mentioned it, but wait til people notice that Renfield is now black and Dracula makes him his slave. Do you rem the reaction when John Walker/Captain America's sidekick was introduced as a black Bucky? Had to change the name to Battlestar.
It shouldn' make a difference in the show, but it will get blown outta proportion by the media.
Hellsing
Hellsing - 5/13/2013, 11:18 AM
The media made big deal about British actors "invading" hollywood and taking all the big roles, so yeah wouldn't be surprised if some one makes a big deal out of it.

Lol, somewhere Bram Stoker is spinning like a top in his grave.

Not that the original Dracula was a timeless classic either, but damn, this bears about as much resemblance to the Dracula story as Ridley Scott's Robin Hood bore to the Merry Adventures. They are aware that Dracula is supposed to be Vlad III, right? Who's that killing Dracs's wife in a flashback? Who has the great big balls to hold down Vlad the [frick]ing Impaler and kill his woman?

Looks like they should have put this on PBS with Downton Abbey...
