When Earth is attacked by Thanos in Jonathan Hickman's Infinity this summer, only a small group of Earth's Mightiest Heroes will be left to protect the Earth. Yesterday, a "Mighty" new team led by Luke Cage was teased by Marvel, and today it has been revealed that the Superior Spider-Man will be joining him. If you once again use Marvel's AR app on this image, you'll get a message from editor Tom Brevoort in which he explains why Otto Octavius decided to join Cage's team of Avengers. "Today's mystery character is the Superior Spider-Man, a very different flavor of Spider-Man than the typical hero we've come to know and love," he says in the recorded message to fans. "Doctor Octopus has commandeered his body and is using it to carry out his own particular interpretation, his brand of what begin a hero is. During the course of the Infinity catastrophe, he is on Earth in the center of New York. it's his city. He's got it rigged with spider-cameras, spider-bots and spider-minions and there's no way anybody's going to be attacking his place without his intervention." What do you guys think?

Infinity is being written by Hickman, so I'm optimistic about this event.

Having Otto on the team automatically makes them the Superior Avengers.

Don't think this is an event guys, but an actually series. Read the details, it's a team led by Luke Cage. Naturally it's spun off of an event, Infinity, but this "mighty" team is a whole new series.

I think continuing this God awful Superior Spider-Man crap into this event continues the downward spiral of the fans interests in this.

Mighty weak is more like it.

I barely get excited for comics these days... I like Hickman's writing but at the end of the day, the execs are in charge and I dont trust the direction of the company as a whole.

Even Spidey for that matter. Thor, Silver Surfer, Captain Marvel, Hyperion... If it's about Thanis they should use heavy weights. What next? Wasp and Ant-man?
