Spider-Man 2099 is coming to Superior Spider-Man. Unfortunately, we don't have the solicitation details just yet, but it does seem clear that they will be facing off against one another. As he's somehow travelling from the future, could it be that Miguel O'Hara KNOWS that Peter Parker's body has been taken over by Otto Octavius? Hopefully that is the case and this will be the beginning of the end for the so-called "Superior" Spider-Man. What do you guys think will happen?

I've wanted SM2099 to come to the 616 for an eternity.

And Levitikuz, from everyone here in Charlotte, you can go to hell.

If by 2099 no hero has uncovered what Otto did to Peter, then Superior Spider-Man will officially be suffering from an idiot plot.

Dan Slott is actually a good writer and his Superior Spider-Man run is actually very entertaining. Don't knock it till you try it.

I'm pretty sure Miguel knows that something is not right with Petrr, maybe because of a time shift thanks to Otto. Can't wait for Miguel O Hara to wreck shit up.

The series is decently written, but I refuse to continue reading this crappy serious out or respect for Peter Parker.

@Leitikuz Yep, Slott writes a terrible Spider Man. Spidey has been written horridly since One More Day.

I always loved the spidey 2099 character.

His costume is one of the best of the MU for me.

Everyone is free to have whatever opinion they want on and off the internet, but I'm okay with admitting that I love Otto-man. He makes a much better Spiderman. He really was treated like dirt, beaten up and laughed at, whereas Peter Parker just whined about his spectacular life and genius.

Maybe I'm on the side of the bad guys here, but I'm really enjoying the series and don't care if Parker ever comes back. Otto will kill, maim and take the easy way out in order to have victory and it's a much more interesting approach than punch it till it drops, then make a quip Peter.

But I know it won't last, so I'm also really curious to see how Doc Ock changes for the better once he gets a new, cloned body and Peter comes back to life.

Why can't they have Mark Weid on Spider-Man for when Peter's back?

[frick]ing do it Marvel. DC has a top writer in Snyder on Batman & Superman. Get a top writer on Spidey instead of some hack.

@Levitikuz Mark Waid on Spider Man, great idea man! Marvel needs you as Chief Creative Officer instead of Joe Quesada!

I hated Marvel 2099.... said by me NEVER. Spidey and Doom were the only 2099 books I really liked. After Marvel fired Cavilieri, Warren Ellis and Peter David left the books and that was pretty much the end for that little universe. As far as Superior Spidey goes, I like the title. I think Slott's doing a great job. As far as stories go, there's nothing wrong with Otto as Spiderman. I feel like this is something Stan Lee might have done back in the day. Only with Stan Lee, the whole thing would have ended with issue 9 (only with Peter victorious). I'm intrigued to see Miguel go up against this version of Spiderman.

@ TheClemster

I seriously think it was Spiey 2099's costume that sold comic fans on the whole 2099 universe (Doom's too, for me). That costume design is almost as iconic as the original.

@TonyChu, go home...just...go home. Slott sucks and YES I have read every issue. It's worse than the clone saga. Don't even bring peter back. Just kill Ock (Miguel has no problem with murder) and leave 2099 in the 616. Then and only then will I actually purchase another Spidey title.

"He really was treated like dirt, beaten up and laughed at, whereas Peter Parker just whined about his spectacular life and genius.

Otto murdered innocent people and tried to destroy the Earth. He deserves to be treated like dirt. When did Peter ever whine about how smart he was? Why would somebody complain about something good in their life?

"Otto will kill, maim and take the easy way out in order to have victory and it's a much more interesting approach than punch it till it drops, then make a quip Peter."

No, it isn't. It makes the character unlikable. A hero doesn't look for the easy way out. A true hero looks for the right solution and acts on it.

I think it's great.. Stop crying about a little shake-up to the norm. Slott writes the best Spidey since Gerry Conway. Just imagine how many problems Peter will have once he gets back. It's Classic Spider-man.

I've read Superior up until issue 009 and I hated it. Why are people suddenly so in love with Otto? All he does is talk about how superior he is. That's it. There's nothing we'll written about his story. Every issue is the same thing over and over again. I'll keep on reading other Spider stories up until then which are MUCH better written than this trash.

VIRILEMAN

You say that like its a bad thing.

;P

Fact is like how Batman & Superman is DC's poster boys, Spider-Man is Marvel. Snyder on Batman has been awesome and while New 52 Superman has sucked so far, Snyder will be on Superman Unchained with Jim Lee.

Marvel's best writer is Mark Weid. His Daredevil series & Hulk series has been awesome. Also Tower of Babel, Kingdom Come, Birthright, I can go on with Weid. He would write legendarily Spider-Man stories. Slott ain't got nothing on Weid. Get a great writer on Spider-Man instead of Fat Slott.

If Miguel is coming to the present FROM 2099 then why does the background in that picture have flying cars and floating spotlights???

It seems more like Superior Spider-Douche traveled to 2099 probably to gloat on how he thinks he will be praised.
