BOX OFFICE: Zack Snyder's MAN OF STEEL Already Breaking Records Internationally

Man of Steel opens in North America at midnight tonight, but the Zack Snyder helmed reboot has already started rolling out internationally and has broken records in one confirmed location so far. Read on for details on that and its predicted performance domestically this coming weekend.

Man of Steel opens officially in North America at midnight and will then be screened from Friday at an incredible 4,207 locations across the country. 850 of those are 2D only, while the rest will be a combination of 3D and 2D. In a bid to combat rival studio estimates of an opening weekend of $95 - $100 million, Warner Bros. are predicting a rather conservative $80 million for its first three days of release. However, it's thought that the added 3D ticket price may help it exceed these numbers, although a big part of that will also come down to word of mouth (Man of Steel may have received a mixed response from some critics, but the majority of fans who have been lucky enough to already see it have had nothing but good things to say). Advance ticket sales are strong and the film will also open at several key territories this weekend before debuting at an additional 26 next week. Ultimately, Man of Steel will be shown on 21,000 screens internationally. It has in fact already opened in the Philippines where it shattered their all-time box office record to become the biggest opening day ever with $1,657,532. Stay tuned to CBM for further updates!

Hopefully this gives WB faith in other DC heroes that aren't Batman so they can get solo films.

60%. I have to commend DC fans for outdoing even Marvel fans in denial. If i was really invested in this film i would start to worry.

I wouldn't start to claim that reviews are meaningless when they conflict with what you want. How much you wanna bet that if the score was 95% you would be telling everyone you could. reviews wouldn't be so meaningless then would they?

I am excited to see it tonight. It sucks that the critics are being very harsh, but of course after I see it tonight I will decide if those critics are correct or not.

Its funny cus these critics fail to realize that the general audience plus superman fans just wanna see a badass superman movie for the firts time ever

That only spells success

some critics dislike it just because they think it makes them look more sophisticated and hard to please. come on, they complain about too much action. what were they expecting, titanic?! the only opinion that matters to me is my own.

What ever problems exist with this movie and I am sure there are some, DC/WB need to take heart and correct those mistakes for the second movie.

Imagine that, an article about MOS and here come the pussy trolls.

I think I'll go read about Cap 2. Oh wait, the pussy trolls are there too.

Get a fuggin life. Be glad we are getting these movies. I am more of a Marvel fan, but I hope MOS does great. I hope there is a shared DC Cinematic Universe. Stop with the trolling you pathetic losers. Try something new, get out of your mom's or grandmother's basement and become useful to society. Who knows? You may enjoy life in the real world. You may even get the opportunity to be naked with another person who isn't your parent or grandparent.

Go get em MOS!! Here's to the beginning of what hopes to be the start of more DC movies! Here's to the possibility of Batman, Superman and co. being together on the big screen!!

I have seen the movie twice here in the Philippines. For you to understand the story, you have to listen carefully to the dialogue and read the non-verbal cues that speak about the struggles Clark is going through.

It is the best superhero movie I have ever seen, contrary to what Randell222 has claimed. And what I feel about the movie is best expressed by the critic Drew McWeeny of hitfix.com.

Many theaters in the Philippines have lousy audio or the damn aircon is too loud. If you could hardly hear the audio, the movie does not make sense at all.

At this point I think the movie is going to do great at the box office. To much buzz is around the movie. On the flip side it is not going to do as well because I am sure the reviews will sway some people not to go see it. Some people are just mindless sheep that way.

Only 10 hours till the movie!

It's time for...When critics get it wrong!
“I sat cringing before M-G-M’s Technicolor production of The Wizard of Oz, which displays no trace of imagination, good taste, or ingenuity… I don’t like the Singer Midgets under any circumstances, but I found them especially bothersome in Technicolor… I say it’s a stinkeroo.”

I saw MOS yesterday and it was that good!

The hate is getting bad on this site! I am fine if you want to a hate a movie after you saw it and you just flat out hated it, but all this hate for a movie that has not even been released.

Anyways I hope I am not highly disappointed in MOS like I was with IM3.
