This September, celebrate the X-Men’s 50th anniversary with the first major X-Men crossover event in over three years—X-Men: Battle of the Atom! From the blockbuster creative team of Brian Michael Bendis, Jason Aaron, Brian Wood, Frank Cho, Stuart Immonen, Chris Bachalo, David Lopez & Giuseppe Camuncoli, comes an event so exhilarating, and so groundbreaking that fans will be talking about this for years to come! Three X-Men universes collide in the biggest war mutantkind has ever seen, and you won’t believe how it all plays out. One thing’s for sure—no reader will come out unscathed!

“If All-New X-Men #1 was the shot heard round the world, X-Men Battle Of The Atom is Valley Forge,” explained Nick Lowe, Senior Editor, Marvel Entertainment. “And there’s no group of creators I’d rather go to war with than Brian [Bendis], Jason [Aaron] and Brian [Wood]. And that doesn’t even mention the murderer’s row of artists.”

Hank McCoy brought the original X-Men into the present in the hopes of changing the course of history and stopping Scott Summer’s mutant revolution before it even begins. But as the young and confused X-Men try to cope with their devastating futures, the team begins to unravel from the inside. And just as mutant civil war is about to hit it’s boiling point, an unexpected third party comes in to change the game—the future X-Men! They’ve traveled back in time with a warning—the original X-Men need to go back to their rightful time or they will be the final nail in mutantkind’s coffin. They risked everything to come to the past and won’t leave until the All-New X-Men are back in the past. It’s monumental! It’s earth-shattering! It’s X-Men: Battle of the Atom!

Beginning in September and ending in October, this 10-part weekly event is not one any fan can miss:

• Part 1: X-Men Battle of the Atom #1
• Part 2: All-New X-Men #16
• Part 3: X-Men #5
• Part 4: Uncanny X-Men #12
• Part 5: Wolverine & The X-Men #36
• Part 6: All-New X-Men #17
• Part 7: X-Men # 6
• Part 8: Uncanny X-Men #13
• Part 9: Wolverine & The X-Men #37
• Part 10: X-Men: Battle of The Atom #2

Don’t miss out on the event of the season! Who will become unlikely allies? What is S.H.I.E.L.D.’s master plan? What are the consequences for altering time and space? Most importantly, what will determine the fate of our favorite superheroes? This fall, all will be revealed in X-Men: Battle of the Atom!

Another event? Seriously I'm actually looking forward to read a non event series maybe a couple of issues of people playing video games or just paying bills.
Who would have thought that we would be clamoring for less action.

Right now I'm reading All New X-Men and Uncanny X-Men, not X-Men or Wolverine and the X-Men. Are any of those two series worth reading (Or in Wolverine & the X-Men's case, jumping into)?

Normally, I'm with the "not another crossover" guys, but if you've actually been following All-new X-men, Uncanny x-men, and Uncanny Avengers then this makes total sense. There have been things going on that are connected between the titles and have obvious consequences, but the result of which isn't so easy to figure out. They're pretty good reads right now and I'm all for this event.

I dropped Uncanny X-Men after the big reveal that SHIELD's liaison on all things Scott Summers was .... Dazzler. Bendis' X-Men is not for me, and I could really care less about this event. We all saw how they celebrated Spider-Man's 50 years last year.

Remember when Super-heroes actually fought Super-Villains? Yeah it's been so long I can't remember either. After Civil War & A vs. X I'm done with the major event with hero vs. hero. Plus over in DC you got Trinity War between the 3 Justice League teams. I mean I remember when you were younger you used to like to see what hero could beat what hero in your mind every now and then. But damn now it's every other moment with a Hero vs. Hero event. It used to be original now it's status quo.

And while I maybe suffering from Event fatigue. I will say this crossover actually makes some sense. Because when they first announced the All New X-Men series I was like uh isn't that going to totally eff up the time stream. Last time a mutant went back in time to do some changes you got Age of Apocalypse. So I'm like now that the original X-Men are gone who's stopping Mutant threats during that time, um they can't stay forever. And with them being here in the present once they go back knowing what they know won't that change how the present is?

Hey, Marvel. Ms. Average Jane consumer here.

Question: Aren't you trying to get MORE people into your comics these days? I've gotten that impression from your soft reboot and integration of your movie universe into your comic universe. That's swell. Here's another thing you should do:

STOP. WITH. THE GODDAMN. EVENTS.

It is bad enough I have to sort through all the different runs, story arcs, mini-series and relaunches of characters. I want to get to the good stuff so I have to do my research and navigate carefully. Events make it harder to do this because I have to tip toe around parts of an ongoing series they tie into because I'll be missing parts of the bigger story. And no, I will not just buy those other books for the event only because I'm sure they have some ongoing story of their own mixed in that would lose me. Put yourself in my shoes: even if I was interested in an event, do you have an freaking idea how daunting those lists are? It's like I have to buy have the damn store. I'm better off waiting for the bound volume(s).

It's annoying. It's alienating. It doesn't help you get more readers. Cut. It. The. [frick]. Out.

Huge X-Fan so looking forward to this. that isnt clayface like lol thats an Ice hulk thing and yes thats Deadpool and what looks like Xavior and the female Xorn is called Xorna so im thinking future Polaris. and yes AVX was about the x-men but this is the first true x-over in years since Second Coming. they arent counting Avx or Schism because they were mini onto them selves BOTA actually is contained in multiple series like Second Coming and Messaiah Complex. I really hope tyhis does change thing and do something to the x-men rather them not really effect anything. and i like that at least this article mensions shield maybe dazzlers plot in Uncanny will be continued within BOTA
