Will A MAN OF STEEL Sequel Hit As Early As...Next Year?!

Man of Steel has only just opened in theatres, but "knowledgeable people close to the studio" have apparently told a reliable source that the sequel may be released as soon as 2014, with Justice League following soon after in 2015. News that's too good to be true, surely? Read on for details.

In a piece on the recent box office success of Man of Steel, The Wall Street Journal has seemingly revealed that the sequel is being planned for release as early as NEXT YEAR. "Warner is already in development on a sequel to "Man of Steel" and is expected to fast track that for release as soon as 2014, said knowledgeable people close to the studio. In addition, it has long been developing a "Justice League" team-up movie featuring characters such as the Flash and Wonder Woman that could come out as soon as 2015." While this may seem unlikely, it's not exactly unheard of. Fast & Furious 6 came out this year and the seventh instalment of that franchise will be released in a little over a year from now. However, they would need to start work on the movie almost immediately to make this a reality, and Henry Cavill's next project is supposed to be The Man From U.N.C.L.E.. Whether this is a mistake or just a sign that the studio are anxious to establish a new franchise as quickly as possible remains to be seen. We should however find out one way or the other at this year's San Diego Comic Con.

In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Henry Cavill) is a young twenty-something journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond his imagination. Transported years ago to Earth from Krypton, a highly advanced, distant planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question 'Why am I here?' Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Diane Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Kevin Costner), Clark discovers having extraordinary abilities means making difficult decisions. When the world is in dire need of stability, an even greater threat emerges. Clark must become a Man of Steel, to protect the people he loves and shine as the world’s beacon of hope – Superman.

STARRING:

Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman
Amy Adams as Lois Lane
Kevin Costner as Jonathan Kent
Diane Lane as Martha Kent
Michael Shannon as Zod

They would have to already b filming, which they're not, to be able to finish the post-production in time. Don't believe every stupid thing someone chooses to write down.

I expect Man Of Steel 2 in 2016 at the earliest lol! However I hope that instead of a Justice League movie, we get a WORLD'S FINEST movie in 2015. First, a Justice League movie will make more by a small amount, due to the fact that their 2 biggest moneymakers, BATMAN and SUPERMAN, are in it. You take both of them, and it won't be as anticipated and won't make as much. However, at this point, if you make a WORLD'S FINEST film, you get 2 things: a Man Of Steel sequel, and a Batman reboot. Superman and Batman together in one film alone is better for now, and for those who want Lex Luthor and Joker back in film, you can with this film, and people won't get as annoyed by their reappearance (especially Luthor's) because they are not alone, they are together.

There is no possible way unless they already shot some of it back to back with this one. Fast track it all you want. Post takes more than that.
Besides the success of this one will determine the budget on the second one. So I all BS all around

I'm willing to wait for a another great film.
I really don't want them to rush and mess it up.
Anyway it sounds like total crap, I don't how they could write, shoot and post-produce this within a year.
ruadh
ruadh - 6/16/2013, 4:13 PM
A year to make a movie?

Entirely feasible. It does NOT need to take 3 years to produce a quality film these days.
Grady
Grady - 6/16/2013, 4:14 PM
I call BS on this, they may have given the green light to start developing a rough story outline but have no script and Cavill admitted himself it took him 4mnths of training before they even started filming and MOS filmed for like 5mnths so a release next yr would be near impossible with all the post this needs. I would say maybe the will start filming next year for a late 2015/summer 2016 realease. Snyder admitted we cant wait 4/5yrs before seeing a sequel because of Marvel's ability to churn out films.
