Dammit, so the real Silver Samurai will be in the robot suit?! Smh... I wish they'd just left him as a mutant and fight in the regular samurai suit.

Nice featurette

What if because this Wolverine is so much larger than the comic one, they scaled up the silver samurai to match!

@Batmaniac Why would people bash it because it is taking itself seriously?

After all the disappointment I have felt seeing my beloved X-men portrayed incorrectly on the big screen, and have lowered my expectations on all CBM's because of that, I still can't help but hope that this movie will knock it out of the park. Seeing the grizzly was another nice callback to the second mini-series I ever purchased back in the early 80's (the first one being Contest of Champions, of course).

I'm looking forward to this. I loved the Japan stuff in the comics, and I really like the idea of exploring Wolverine without his powers. It's an interesting idea. I just hope Fox is able to make it work. They've been on the right track with First Class... I'm just hoping they can keep their movies as good with Wolverine, DOFP, and the eventual F4 reboot.

@Batmaniac
did tdk take itself seriously? i mean, what the f.uck are you talking about? wolverine is 'dark and gritty' because it's supposed to be that way. unlike superman or spiderman.

Another CBM to look forward to. The Wolverine has to be better than Wolverine origins. We hope.
kadetra

This movie supposed to be dark and serious,it should not even be rated PG13.
ekrolo2
ekrolo2 - 7/1/2013, 7:41 AM
I used to not be excited for this one at all but the recent trailers and info released about the film from places like IGN really has gotten be pumped for this bad boy. It looks like its a more down to earth CBM which is awesome as Im kind of sick of them being these big epic blockbusters.

Plus I like they're showing off more brutality like seeing Wolverine with a sword through his chest, blood leaking out of his hands when he pops his claws, etc.

I hope this movie is just as good as the story arc that it's based on.

@TheRealRemyLebeau

Couldn't agree more. When people try to act like these movies are beneath them because children or more to the point teenagers are also part of the audience the movie is geared towards, it sounds nothing more than elitist and juvenile.
TheWolverine08
TheWolverine08 - 7/1/2013, 7:53 AM
@Batmaniac I don't like dark and serious with characters such as Superman because he is hope and light. Wolverine can be dark and serious because his life is a living hell. He has lost everyone he loves, been tortured as a government experiment, killed all his kids, etc. A light film wouldn't suit him.
TelaVizion
TelaVizion - 7/1/2013, 7:56 AM
Did anyone else think Viper was still sexy with the bald head???
PeterDarker
PeterDarker - 7/1/2013, 7:56 AM
Lauren Shuler Donner is the worst thing to happen to CBM's ever. I was so happy that I never saw her in any promo's for this film...until now. She was ALL over Origins. Specifically saying how great "Deadpool" was. God. Just leave. Just walk away forever. As long as she is in Hollywood, none of our favorite characters are safe.
ekrolo2
ekrolo2 - 7/1/2013, 7:58 AM
@TheWolverine08

So you want Superman to be corny or some such bullshit? Don't tell me you can make a light/serious movie, Iron Man 3 tried to be both the darkest and the funniest of the series and it made the tone and pace go all over the placed and killed any and all dramatic tension. Like OH MY GOD PEPPERS DEAD!!! Que 5 jokes that make us laugh when we should be sad, it doesn't work.
TheWolverine08
TheWolverine08 - 7/1/2013, 8:01 AM
@ekrolo2 I didn't say make Superman "corny". I just mean that his movies can't be as dark or grim as a Batman or Wolverine movie because he is a symbol of hope and optimism.
TheWolverine08
TheWolverine08 - 7/1/2013, 8:04 AM
@Ekrolo2 Iron Man 1 was light/serious and it still managed to be one of the best CBMs of all time.
jcfrommars9
jcfrommars9 - 7/1/2013, 8:06 AM
@TheWolverine08

Exactly. Dark and gritty is not synonymous with mature. That's tone. Applying that tone to Superman doesn't make him better because it doesn't suit him. It suits characters like Batman, Wolverine, the Punisher, Daredevil, etc. Superman and Spider-Man have had dark moments in their life but that's not their attitude towards life itself.
Whiteandgold
Whiteandgold - 7/1/2013, 8:10 AM
iron man trilogy is great? They have one excellent movie, then it went down hill from there.
TheWolverine08
TheWolverine08 - 7/1/2013, 8:13 AM
@Batmaniac I didn't say make Superman lighthearted. I understand Supes has had dark moments in his life, but the his main theme is hope. You can't have hope in a uber serious, dark, and cynical world. You can make Superman's world serious, but absolutely not dark.

Wolverine on the other hand, has to have a dark, cynical world, because his life has been bad experience after bad experience.
kadetra
kadetra - 7/1/2013, 8:16 AM
Wolverine,Daredevil,Punisher,Blade and to a lesser extent Black panther can be treated dark and grim, but characters like the fantastic 4 don't need to be treated dark.
TheWolverine08
TheWolverine08 - 7/1/2013, 8:19 AM
@kadetra You're right on the money.
ekrolo2
ekrolo2 - 7/1/2013, 8:21 AM
@TheWolverine08

Just because of the tone of the film is dark and gritty does not make the character, the only times he was darker was when he doubted weather or not to reveal himself to humanity which made total sense seeing as his whole life he was taught to be afraid of what people would think of him if he revealed who he really was.

Also despite the dark, gritty tone of the film, its actual message was really optimistic. It showed that everyone can find their place in life and sometimes it takes a leap of faith or in MoSs case a giant alien invasion to do it and thats its alright to be yourself.
thewonderer
thewonderer - 7/1/2013, 8:30 AM
God forbid we like First Class as a movie....

Considering this is comicbookMOVIE.com
TheWolverine08
TheWolverine08 - 7/1/2013, 8:39 AM
@Batmaniac No, you don't get it. Superman's world needs to be serious, not dark. Leave the dark and grim to characters like Batman and Wolverine. "Dark" shouldn't be shoved unto characters it doesn't work with.
thewonderer
thewonderer - 7/1/2013, 8:43 AM
I'm a comicbook fan too.

I'm just not as narrow minded and ignorant as most of you comic fans are

Marvel studios is just as bad as Fox or Sony a lot of times and a lot of you biased people ignore that
