COMICS: Marvel Reveals Plans For FANTOMEX MAX Series From Andrew Hope
Writer Andrew Hope returns to Marvel this Fall to pen a new "MAX" series focusing on Uncanny X-Force member Fantomex. He will be joined by artist Shawn Crystal with covers by Eisner Award-winner Francesco Francavilla. Hit the jump for details!
"The general story is that Fantomex, a picaresque anti-hero and "greatest thief in history" -- you could see him as a Robin Hood type character -- is coerced by the villains of the book to steal an object of great destructive potential. As someone who has worked in screenwriting for the best part of the last decade, I approach comic book writing cinematically -- not just in terms of "widescreen action" but in terms of story structure and character-driven action. I didn't know that it was going to be a MAX book until a month or so into my work, so I felt a little more free to write events and themes I might not have been able to otherwise in the regular line."
