Hugh Jackman Desperate For THE WOLVERINE To Team-Up With Spider-Man And The Avengers

Despite complications with where the rights are held, The Wolverine's Hugh Jackman reveals that he's been badgering the folks at Marvel to see if it would be possible for Logan to fight side-by-side The Avengers and The Amazing Spider-Man.

Earlier this year, Hugh Jackman revealed that he would like nothing more than to see Wolverine fighting alongside Earth's Mightiest Heroes. In a recent interview with Collider, the Academy Award nominated actor told the site that he has actually approached Marvel to see if such a crossover could ever be made a reality. "I literally asked the same question the other day to Tom from Marvel who works with all the other studios, he works with Sony and Fox, that’s his job to liaise. I said, ‘Man, can this happen?’ and he goes ‘Look, it’s not gonna be easy because you’re working with different studios and they’re their properties.’ But I believe—maybe I’m optimistic, I understand at Marvel they’ve got The Avengers, they’ve got a lot of big things going on, but at some point I just find it almost impossible that there’s not a way to bring Iron Man, all the Avengers characters, Wolverine, the X-Men characters, Spider-Man, and somehow get them in together." However, as we all know, the rights issues make such a team-up incredibly difficult! Jackman meanwhile has a very sensible solution as to how they could handle it. "I don’t see the impediment! I’m like, okay you’ve got three studios, just split it three ways in terms of the cost, and happy days it’s all coming together! I would love to… I’m in for it, I’m totally up for it because I think that would be really exciting for fans across the board."

Based on the celebrated comic book arc, this epic action-adventure takes Wolverine, the most iconic character of the X-Men universe, to modern day Japan. Out of his depth in an unknown world he faces his ultimate nemesis in a life-or-death battle that will leave him forever changed. Vulnerable for the first time and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel but also his inner struggle against his own immortality, emerging more powerful than we have ever seen him before.

It can work. Have X3 take place like 6 years before Avengers. When people ask "why wasn't there mutants in Iron Man or Hulk', well pick up a comic. There aren't mutants in every issue of them. Either way it could work. I say...

I wouldn't mind honestly. But it's definitely not going to happen. Just imagine the screwed up continuity! And that's the least of their worries if they were crazy enough to do it.

If we can have Bugs Bunny and Micky Mouse in the same movie, we can make this happen:

I like you Hugh and your enthusiasm is adorable but I want to keep the X-films as far away from the MCU as possible.

Jackman should call Andrew Gayfield and say: When Avengers is filming in the streets lets suit up and crash the party.

Maybe we could get a group shot.

@THEDARKKNIGHT1939

Iron Man is becoming the most famous character in the Marvel Universe. Things have changed bro :D

Anyway bacck to this article, after Singer's [frick] you to Joss Whedon, don't ever expect Fox and Marvel studios to work together. You'll see Spidey in the MCU/Avengers before you see the X-Men and FF in the MCU/ Avengers.

That would be quite epic. Shame that Whedon will direct it, with some digital camera whereas there are much better ones and a DOP who [frick]s it up entirely...
Nevertheless, such an Avengers film definitely requires an extended edition. Some scenes, mostly dialogue, are then extended to give the characters more room to breathe and lay them out more. Look at the LOTR films, the extended editions are way better than the theatrical ones imo.
I hope that the JLA film, once it may come.. Does have an extended edition. The superheroes are just too great not to give some extra screentime :P

It's great that he loves being Wolverine. I really wouldn't care to have ALL the X-men cross over but if we could just get Wolverine and Spider-man that would be something. Wolverine is more realistic though in terms of story and plot. Its harder to fit Spiderman into the continuity. One thing is that New York City is where he operates. Which means where the hell was he during The Avengers. Then The Amazing Spider-man would of needed to happen after The Avengers....basically it gets confusing.
