RUMOR: Warner Bros. Batman Reboot Set To Adapt BATMAN BEYOND?

You're going to want to take this one with a big 'ol pinch of salt, but there's a rumour doing the rounds that Warner Bros. are considering taking a very different direction with the planned Batman reboot by adapting the popular Batman Beyond comic book and animated series. Read on for details!

According to Batman-On-Film, there have been "whispers" that Warner Bros. are planning on a big screen adaptation of the popular animated series, Batman Beyond. It will apparently have nothing to do with Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Trilogy (so don't expect to see Christian Bale's Bruce Wayne mentoring Joseph Gordon-Levitt's John Blake) and will tonally be very similar to the small screen version of the story. Of course, this seems like an odd direction to take the Batman franchise in considering the fact that he's surely set to appear in Justice League, but it's hard to imagine too many fans not wanting to see this happen. Batman Beyond focuses on Terry McGinnis and his elderly mentor Bruce Wayne in Neo Gotham. What do you guys think of this rumour?

@MindRiot

Totally agreed! I'd like to see a rebooted Batman series with more villains and action before I'm ready to settle for a Batman Beyond film.

I think a Batman Beyond film should be done after the Justice League Movie or after the rebooted Batman Franchise has ended.

BULLSHITTTTTTTTTT

The Batman reboot will be a semi continuation of Nolans films and tone, similar to how The Incredible Hulk was with HULK, they wont copy it(Nolans universe) but they aint gonna abandon some of the things that came with it.

Just unsure about this...BoF is quite a good source, but surely with a JL movie coming, this doesn't make sense.

Unless there way to get around Batman mingling with the Super-Powered folk, is too give him the Super-Powered suit from Batman Beyond.

Why can't Batman Beyond be in JL? Superman's origin was altered in MOS. why not have a different Batman?

If so, Terry McGuinness would have a movie before Flash, Wonder Woman, and Aquaman. Smh.

If WB ever does JL Bruce Wayne has to be Batman, Period.

I loved Batman Beyond.
I think it's a way we can go more Batman movies, since they're set in the future, whilst also having Batman in the present for JL.

I think it's a great idea, the show was stylish, dark and really edgy which I admired, It'll "freshen up" the Batman franchise.

Well, I hope they are serious about it this time as it isn't the first time they have tried this.

Although I like Batman Beyond, I really think general audiences will find it a bit ridiculous. Comic fans are used to radical interpretations of characters but general public will just think "thats not batman"

Man, it'd be amazing if Daren Kagasoff could play Terry.

This intrigues me. Would be different, and would love to see Terry's bat suit (that thing is sick!)

I just have one ginormous caveat:

Where would this leave JL? Where would this leave the DCU? Seems to be odd to just start up the universe to just flash-forward to the future.

NO! The majority of the movie going public (non-fanboys) have no idea who this character is.
JULEZ13
JULEZ13 - 7/17/2013, 5:46 PM
As cool as this may be, it makes no sense so I call BS.

This does not fit with the DCCU that they are supposed to be creating. If WB wastes money on this then their is absolutely no hope for the DCCU and any hopes of having a proper JL film will be lost.

But I know WB can't be THAT stupid.

Save Batman Beyond til AFTER the JL is has been completed!
