SUPERNATURAL Star Jensen Ackles Expresses Interest In Playing BATMAN

Before Chris Evans was cast], it was Jensen Ackles who was the fan favourite choice to play Captain America on the big screen. Well, following Zack Snyder's Batman/Superman announcement, Jensen Ackles has said that playing the Caped Crusader would be, "a dream come true."

It's that time again! With Christian Bale not returning as Bruce Wayne in the Zack Snyder helmed Batman/Superman movie, various actors are expressing their interest in donning the cowl as the Caped Crusader. First it was Sparticus' Liam McIntyre, and now it's Supernatural's Jensen Ackles! Talking to E! News at this past weekend's San Diego Comic-Con, the actor - who just so happened to be wearing a Batman t-shirt - was asked whether or not he would be interested in the role. "Any guy in his right mind would die to play Batman," Ackles enthusiastically responded. "It would be a dream come true. I won't hold my breath." Ackles does of course have an existing relationship with Warner Bros. thanks to his role in the CW series and even voiced the Red Hood in the popular Under The Red Hood animated movie. I would love that. Jensen is a wonderful actor and don't tell me he's not. I've passionately watched 8 years of Supernatural, the dude has chops.

He'd have to do some extreme working out, if he's up for that, but I'd watch him as Batman. I don't even like Batman, but I think Jensen is great.

Doesn't have the right voice. I want Batman to have that deep dark voice.

Richard Armitage and the guy from Spartacus have great voices for Batman.

No thanks, Jensen. Plus, you're 35 years old. You'll be 37 by the time Superman/Batman rolls out and pushing 40 by the time reboots a new Batman franchise and before we ever get a Justice League.

Liam Mcintyre is only 32 and will still be in his mid 30's by the time Justice League and a Batman reboot starts.

I trust WB to pick the right person to play Batman especially after the Dark Knight series and after how perfect Cavill was for Superman.

If they did a Green Lantern film right, Im all for Jensen Ackles being Hal Jordan.

He could pull off Batman, but I think all actors just want to be Batman because its a sure fire Hit. But there are so many heroes that if done right actors could become synonymous with the character like RDJ with Iron Man.

Id be happy with the Ackles/Hal connection..... WAY better than the Reynolds/Hal thing

I could see Jensen playing batman, he's great on supernatural. Agreed that he would perhaps need to pack on a few more pounds to do it justice visually, but the guy is in shape anyway so that shouldn't be too hard. @JDuke I love Richard Armitage and his voice would be brilliant. He can certainly act too.

Jensen would have fit Captain America much more than Chris Evans, in my opinion.

Chris is a great guy and good actor, but Jensen has the right look to be the leader, I feel. but anyway... it is what it is.

The guy who wrote that article had no source or proof that someone went in for a screen test. I could just write "Idris Elba had a screen test for Green Lantern" and include no proof or source and it wouldn't be any different.

Sam Witwer is also 35 years old. Too old. He'll be 40 by the time they reboot Batman.

Please think about age people. Whoever is Batman will need to star in *multiple* films. Think about it. If everything breaks right and WB does indeed pull of a DC universe, Bruce Wayne will appear in:

1. Batman/Superman (2015)
2. Batman reboot (2017?)
3. Justice League (2017)
4. Batman 2 (2019)
5. Batman 3 (2021)

And that's an accelerated, audience-demanded schedule. Sam Witwer and Jensen Ackles will be 41 years old by the time Batman's sequel hits and 43, or 44 when the trilogy wraps...

Batman should be a little older than Superman but he shouldn't be pushing 50 if and when a Justice League sequel comes around...

Chris Pine
Bradley Cooper

If I had to pick just one, id go with Chris Pine. He would be a great Bruce Wayne, and I think he's tall enough to be Batman. He'd have to hit the weights a bit, but id go with him.

@gambgel I completely agree, Chris Evans shines when he can use his humour and that's why I think he'd be a pretty good Flash. Jensen would've made the perfect Cap.
