300 And WATCHMEN Composer Tyler Bates To Score GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY

300 And WATCHMEN Composer Tyler Bates To Score GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY

It has been confirmed that Tyler Bates - a composer who worked with Zack Snyder on all of his movies except for Man of Steel - has been chosen to provide the score for Marvel Studios and James Gunn's highly anticipated Guardians of the Galaxy. Read on for details!

By JoshWilding - Aug 21, 2013 11:08 AM EST

As you can see in the below statement from Guardians of the Galaxy writer and director James Gunn, Tyler Bates will compose the score for Guardians of the Galaxy. It sounds as if the duo are approaching their collaboration in an extremely unique way, although that seems fitting for a movie which is shaping up to be Marvel's most original and unusual movie yet. While Bates has worked with Zack Snyder on each of his movies, his impressive resume also includes the likes of Super (a James Gunn movie), Killer Joe and Low Winter Sun. What do you guys think of this choice?

@CherryBomb: I wouldn't say Watchmen's score was powerful. It was very good though. Love the movie.

Guardians of the Galaxy having unexpected cast members, an unexpected director and just an unexpected everything so far. It's uniqueness and knowing very little about it makes me more intrigued to see the trailers and the final product. Favorite cast member is definitely, Benicio del Toro

This will be an epic movie plus it will have an amazing soundtrack. I wouldn't be surprised if this movie ends up being better then the Avengers. Comics + SciFi = Gold. Plus if Justice League Dark gets made we should see a Nightstalkers movie.

Awesome.
That's really cool that he plays the score as they shoot a scene.
This is by far my most anticipated movie since birth. I'm more hyped for this than I was for the Avengers.

But for right now fanboys wanna see this movie bad so that's a good start

@Gusto and anyone else who hasn't read the Abnett/Lanning (sp?) GotG 2008 run...it's really %*#@! good. Highly recommend if you get your hands on them.

..best thing for losers like trollem, I mean Jollem, & other Debbie-douches is ignore them. I wish nothing but good things for DC films & can't wait for Flash, WW, etc., but trolls are bitter & have nothing else better to do -- literally, since they're not getting ANY FILMS for a few years -- than troll Marvel articles. Deal with it & hope DC films rock when they eventually, at some time, in the future, within our lifetimes, come out. Losers.

Everything about this movie news wise just makes GOTG sounds increasing promising. The casual chemistry the cast has, the awesome low-res trailer, and Tyler Bates as a composer....if/when this movie becomes a huge hit, I'd like to see Adam Warlock, Jack Flag, and Mantis in the sequel (if they make it).
