Hugh Jackman Says Wolverine Very Nearly Had A Cameo In Sam Raimi's SPIDER-MAN

Despite untold issues with the rights, Hugh Jackman has revealed that he and Kevin Feige tried to arrange a walk through cameo for him in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man, but a missing suit meant it never happened! He also reiterates the fact that any sort of crossover is extremely unlikely.

Ever the optimist, Hugh Jackman is still hoping that he will one day be able to fight as Wolverine alongside Spider-Man or The Avengers (despite acknowledging just how unlikely such an occurrence would be). Well, in a recent interview with The Huffington Post, the actor has revealed that he and Kevin Feige tried to arrange a background cameo for Wolverine in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man back in 2002. However, it sounds as if a missing costume - presumably the one he wore in X-Men - ended in it not happening. How Fox would have felt about this is something else altogether!

"In the first "Spider-Man" -- Kevin Feige reminded me of this -- we really tried to get me to come on and do something, whether it was a gag or just to walk through the shot or something. The problem was, we couldn't find the suit. The suit was stuck in some thing. And so when they were in New York when I was there, we couldn't get it together. So, you know, I actually asked some high level people about it. Because the optimist in me goes, "Why not? Why can't we do it? You know, a split cast or whatever?" And someone reminded that the amount of money Fox paid compared to the amount of money Disney paid is very different [laughs]. So how you split that pie up? God knows. But in the comic books, what's great about it is they're just mashing together all the time -- and it's awesome. And people are like, "Yeah, well, let's get this one with that!" And, you know, I still think, one day, there may be an ability to do it."

I think before Hugh or RDJ leaving the roles they should crossover in some way, [frick]ing fox and [frick]ing sony :(

Oh man that would have been [frick]ing epic.

A crossover is possible still. If Wolverine/Spider-Man were to crossover just give Wolverine more Screentime and Spider-Man more lines.

That's what they did for Bugs and Mickey in Roger Rabbit.

Just have Andrew and Hugh walk around in NYC in a scene in A:AOU.

Maybe Hugh should go on strike until Fox allows a crossover to happen.

If Disney gets X-Men rights back, keep Hugh. He is Wolverine.

Love the guys optimism but hollywood just doesn't work like that. The dudes is [frick]ing Wolverine, yeah he's too tall etc etc but the dude IS Wolverine. Its a shame the movies haven't always been able to back up his performances.

Also can we get Matthew Vaughn to direct a Wolverine movie before Jackman retires from the role.

End DOFP with the creation of a new universe in a way with Wolverine in the future/present. He's in New York and reads a newspaper that says "Avengers Save New York". Then Wolverine gets a call from Cyclops. End scene.

That would be awesome. Maybe a Spidey swinging in the background. We [frick]ing saw the Spider-Man hat in The Wolverine. Do this now.

This is what I said for Avengers 1.... Just have Hugh walk pass the camera or something... Jeans, Tank, Hat... Give him a cigar if you want. Don't have to label him by name (and this way Fox can't legally claim anything)

Hiddleston is to Marvel Studios

Both awesome promoters!

It would have been awesome if they had Wolverine in the montage scene where they ask New Yorkers about Spider-Man. Wolverine has his cigar lit and just says "get that camera out of my face bub".

Even if the characters don't show up in the same movies, at least put them in the same universe. Like Levi said, having a character read something about another character from a different studio in the news paper would be a cool easter egg for fans. Just think if Cap was reading an editorial in the paper about "the mutant menance".

Oh well, one day when the studios get their hands out of their butts.

It's not too late to cross them. Nothing about the MCU shows you can't have mutants and X-Men.

Would be awesome if Wolverine showed up in Avengers and Cap recognized him from the WW2 days.. Could make for a cool story to connect the 2

It's not happening anytime soon.Especially after FOX did this to Marvel Studios....

Regarding the Quick Silver scenerio.
