HULK Writer Mark Waid Shares His Thoughts On A Movie For Mark Ruffalo's Bruce Banner

Talking to Newsarama about his Indestructible Hulk run, writer Mark Waid was asked whether he thinks Marvel Studios should be forging ahead with a solo movie for the Green Goliath. "Oh, please, yes! He's tailor made for a film adventure. Wasn't he the breakaway star of Avengers? He was in my theater, I'll tell you that! [Ruffalo is] spot-on. I love how he’s more driven than tormented, and the Bruce Banner/Tony Stark bromance is positively inspirational." So, he's clearly a fan of the idea, but would only say that there are "many great runs" that the filmmakers should look to for inspiration, adding that Tales To Astonish would be a good place to start. However, when asked to share his thoughts on possible preconceived notions about another Hulk movie, Waid added: "Hulk smash puny preconceptions." What do you guys think?

I actually suggest they follow Waid's run and make Hulk an Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. It's such a cool concept. And it gives them a chance to have Hulk and Banner (in the form of the floaty little robot) interacting with each other, giving Banner more screen time.

It'd be like the weirdest, coolest buddy-movie in existence.

Oh stop Nomis, Hulk didn't drop the whole building on those people. He saved their lives. At times in MoS I thought I was watching Fist of the North Star.

@Nomis Hulk is a manifestation of rage and unleashed emotion. He will cause damage when set loose.

@ Nomis - Dude, we expect destruction from the Hulk. That's what the character's all about. He SMASHES things! If you seriously don't understand why it's not a big deal when Hulk does that kind of thing, as opposed to that figurehead of virtue and hope that is Superman (you know, the protector of Earth), then you're a moron.

I think a Hulk movie would work but there would have to be a good amount of both Hulk and Banner unlike the other movies that have only had small snippets of Hulk.

Aye, I have no problem if they base a Hulk sequel on Waid's current run(said that many times before)! Of course no armor in the movie.

@Nomis What Waid did really isn't hypocritical considering Hulk represents destruction and rage while Superman doesn't.

@BlackJack10 - Superman doesn't REPRESENT rage. That's what TheWolverine08 said.

@Nomis I get your point loud and clear I just don't see comparing the actions between Hulk and Superman to be the right thing to do since they stand for two things that diametrically oppose.
