Marc Forster Reportedly WON'T Return To Helm WORLD WAR Z Sequel (Well, Duh...)

World War Z was far from the big budget flop many expected, although it appears as if those reports about Brad Pitt and Marc Forster not getting along were completely true, as the Quantum of Solace director won't be back for the sequel according to a new report.

We all know about the numerous reshoots and the need for a completely new ending, but another issue on the set of World War Z was apparently the fact that director Marc Forster and star/producer Brad Pitt weren't getting along because of those production problems. The two completely stopped speaking at one point, although those involved with the film - which unexpectedly became a huge hit when it was released back in June - have strenuously denied this on more than once occasion. Well, in a report over at The Hollywood Reporter, they say that Pitt's production company ARE working on a sequel, but "director Marc Forster won't be back." Pitt adds that, "We are talking about it. We are going to investigate a script. We have a lot of ideas we will cull from. Nobody is writing just yet, but we are compiling our ideas." World War Z earned a worldwide total of $539 million, so expect to see a follow-up sooner rather than later!

"Based on the book World War z"

So taking the name of something actually counts now?

the movie was devoid of logic. in a dangerous situation where you can't make any noise? leave your cell phone on. noise atracts them? let a bunch of idiots make loud, celebratory music that risks the safety of the ONE safe place. on a plane? of course there is a zombie in the locked bathroom. throw a grenade on a plane? of course it crashes and only the main character and the new companion character survive. discover that being terminally ill gets you ignored by zombies? doesn't explain how asshole earlier with a bum leg is ignored too. absolutely terrible, mind-numbing movie.

I thought it was pretty good actually. Not great, bood good. They can definetly learn from their mistakes and make the sequel great

Wasn't really true to the book which is probably a good thing because the book would NOT make a good movie at all. I thought it was an entertaining movie though, sure I pirated it and I'd definitely pirate the sequel as well.

I thought it was pretty good. Not fantastic, but thoroughly enjoyable. I haven't read the book so I am unaware of the lack of similarities.

Hopefully the sequel will be even better.

The problem was that Brad didnt want to be on the other side of the interview table after Interview with a Vampire LOL

Nothing like the book, the "noise" issue made no sense because there were plenty of buses and helicopters moving around but it was the singing on a megaphone that sent them burserk? WTH

I don't think we really need a World War Z sequel. The first one was better than I thought it was going to be but I don't think people are begging for this sequel to be made. But if they shoot for a 2015 release date, they are going to get destroyed

The movie wasn't that bad. It was actually decent and I liked the female soldier they introduced half-way though.

The problem is that the book had ton of cool ideas and stories that they didn't end up using in the film, which is a shame. Hopefully the sequel can fix that, but in the end, World War Z works better as a mocumentary. Like District 9.

I loved the first one. It had some flaws but I still loved it. Second one will probably be horrible though without the same directors.

This movie was horrible and absolutely nothing like the book.

They just made their own zombie movie and called it WWZ.

What is a sequel even going to be about? They made a zombie camouflage that makes it impossible for zombies to want to eat them. What is a sequel going to be? People going around killing zombies that aren't even trying to attack them?

Yeah that sounds great...
