THE SIMPSONS Pay Homage To THE HOBBIT In Latest Couch Gag

Fox have released the couch gag for "Four Regrettings and a Funeral", and it clearly pays homage to The Hobbit; perfect timing considering that The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug will be released soon!

Four Springfielders are prompted to try to right past regrets following the funeral of a beloved neighbor. Homer regrets selling his Apple stock to buy a bowling ball, Marge worries she caused Bart’s rebellious streak, Mr. Burns reminisces about a romance he gave up with a beautiful Parisian woman and Kent Brockman admits he was too afraid to leave local news and follow his former partner Rachel Maddow (guest appearing as herself) to cable news in the all-new “Four Regrettings and a Funeral” episode of THE SIMPSONS airing Sunday, Nov. 3 on FOX.

Wow-- The Simpsons stopped being funny so many years ago, I occasionally forget they're still making it... and then they do something cheap and obvious, like this.

At least with the Treehouse of Horror opening by Guillermo Del Toro, they had a REASON to go overboard on the references, but this is just f%$#ing ridiculous.

I miss classic Simpsons... Thank God for DVD box sets!

I hardly watch the Simpsons but you won't ever hear me trash talk it cause I'm not an idiot. If you can't respect a legend and pioneer of tv shows like the Simpsons was and IS then your say means nothing. Sorry, but I know it's no what it used to be but for as long as it has been running on the air it still puts out quality stuff. Respect the classics man. It's not dead yet.

I LOVE The Simpsons but it hasn't been good in a long time. I think some people just can't let it go and they say it's still good no matter what. Or they're too young to remember how good it was in seasons 1-10.

Haters of the Simpsons are so full of s***. Obviously a lot of people are still watching the show if they keep making seasons.
