As you can see from the Tweets below, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is, well, setting the box office on fire! Having been met with an almost unanimously positive response from critics, the movie could now be well on its way to becoming one of the biggest movies of 2013. Will it beat Iron Man 3? THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a “Victor’s Tour” of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) – a competition that could change Panem forever.

The Mandarin rapped in IM3? Must have missed that bit.

Anyway, obviously great BO is not always a reflection of quality, but in this case, like I said, it does deserve it. Even if you only thought the first movie was ok (if you flat out hated it then that's different of course) I'd recommend checking this out.

The books are good. My daughter made me read them. And the Mortal Instruments are pretty good to.

No way it beats IM3 no 3D . It will out gross IM3 in the US but people overseas love their 3D. It is interesting how Thor TDW is doing so much better overseas then MOS but MOS is going to do more domestically.

@Martianabominationclone...Integrity? Dude I am NOT a fan of DC comics outside of Batman. Saying that I loved MoS and Begins and the DK. The 2 companies approaches are reflective of the comics, Marvel storys have always been full of humor. Every other character is a smart ass and every team has a funny character.

To imply that Marvel damages tbe chaeacter integrity.. is just silly. The Mandarin twist, and lets face it, hes a goofy villain, worked because by making the Mandarin a tek based enemy it kept in line with Tonys enemys and allowed for a layer of character depth thwt was missing.

Ooooo. Lol ok brother, I was frustrated! My only complaint about the Iron Man series is the disregard for the 10 rings. They were included as a nod to us and the discarded. I would have loved them included to tie up that plot.

Hunger Games is crap. Chicks dragged their boyfriends to Twilight and made it a mega hit, too. Apparently nerds have fewer girlfriends...I kid, I kid. After the shit fest of IM2, I didn't expect much from IM3 so I wait for it to come out on PPV. And it sucked! Catching Fire looks as bad as the 1st. Rental @best, but I'll likely pass.
