BOX OFFICE: THOR: THE DARK WORLD Passes $600 Million Worldwide

It looks like the Alan Taylor helmed Thor: The Dark World will finish its run at the worldwide box office with a little over $600 million in total, meaning that it has earned over $150 million more than the first instalment which was released back in 2011. Read on for details!

Thor: The Dark World will more than likely pick up a little more cash when it opens in Japan not too long from now, but it seems as if the sequel will finish its run at the worldwide box office with a cume of just over $600 million. That's a hell of a result for the sequel, and while it doesn't come close to Iron Man 3's $1.2 billion, it's surely enough to guarantee that we'll see the God of Thunder back on the big screen for another solo movie after The Avengers: Age of Ultron.

The movie was Good not Great nor was it bad or horrible. I wished they would have spent another five minutes on Malekith and the only downer part was the over the top forced humor from Darcy!

I'm still hoping this will gross more than Man of Steel. The Dark World was easily my second favorite superhero film of the year.

I see this passing IM2's box office total, placing it third behind IM3 and Avengers in the MCU.

Impressive considering he's not an A-List character in the Marvel universe. This is probably one of the reasons we are going to get solo WW and Flash movies in the next 5 years. I'm not big fan of Thor but I wanted it to be susccessful. I thought at the time they were making a mistake releasing when they did in the US they should have done one week earlier. It really got snowed under by Catching Fire. It should have made more in the US. Marvel hopefully will push back Antmans release it should not come out in the wake of Batman vs Superman.

@DarkKnight You make yourself sound like a fool with comments like that, and a person who probably gets a huge kick out of fanboy wars. Should just be happy this movie is not a flop because thats a win for the genre.

Eh I enjoyed the film but I'm dissecting the film soon in a editorial. There major problems with characters and story here and the issue is NOT comedy. The comedy is one of the best things of the movie. More to come..

Nowhere as good as Iron Man 3 or MOS. IM3 was a beautiful film that people need to rewatch in order to understand.

Good. Easily the best CBM of the year. Looks like its going to end up just shy of MoS even with the hit from Catching fire. So nothing to be ashamed of for marvel's November release.
