THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2: Eddie Brock And The Enforcers Featured In Latest Daily Bugle Viral

An article written by Eddie Brock (a.k.a. Venom) has been published on The Daily Bugle viral website, and as well as confirming his presence in The Amazing Spider-Man movie-verse, it also tells the story of a battle between Spidey and classic villains The Enforcers.

What began as a mob shoot-out escalated into a full-blown superhuman slugfest when the vigilante known as Spider-Man appeared on the scene. An argument inside the Zero One Lounge turned ugly when reputed mob enforcer, “Fancy” Dan Brito, pulled a gun on rivals from the Manfredi crime family. As club-goers fled onto the streets of the Meatpacking District, Spider-Man dropped down out of the sky.

Not content to merely take the law into his own hands, bystanders claimed that Spider-Man mocked the thugs as he delivered a one-two punch that sent them soaring.

“It was hard to see from where I was hiding,” said witness Andrea Moore of Park Slope, “but I heard someone, I’m pretty sure it was Spider-Man, say, ‘I hope you’re not afraid of heights,’ and then one of those guys screamed as he landed on top of a fire escape.”

When pressed about any crimes she may have witnessed Spider-Man committing, Moore replied, “Crimes? It’s not a crime to round up stray dogs. What the hell are you talking about?”

Spider-Man disappeared as police arrived to find a dozen mobsters restrained with unmistakable webbing. Brito and his accomplices, Jackson “Montana” Brice and Raymond “The Ox” Bloch, spent the night in the 10TH Precinct holding cell. The NYPD has yet to announce what charges, if any, they plan to bring against the smack-talking vigilante.

Brito, led away in handcuffs, was overheard describing the encounter with the web-slinger: “Just when I thought I was out, he pulled me back in.”

This is yet another cool Easter egg for fans, but obviously far from confirmation that we'll see The Enforcers in The Amazing Spider-Man 2! Many fans have been speculating that the mention of Venom in the recently released trailer was an indication that Eddie Brock would be introduced into the movies in the same way as the Ultimate Universe, but this article instead confirms that this version works for The Daily Bugle (just like his 616 comic book counterpart).

Venom is definitely in this film. By the end of this film I don't think we'll just have saw the symbiote, we'll see Brock become it's host

Or perhaps the enforcers may get their own solo spin-off that would be pretty cool!

I'm sure Topher Grace has some free time on his hands to make a come back. Question is, who would make a good Eddie Brock? Tom Hardy?

How did Tom Hardy ruin a franchise?

They should have Spidey fight the sinister 6 in part 3 and at the end end it with the birth of Venom.

Have him fight venom in part 4

Black Cat would be a marketable off-shoot. Bad girl gone good. I can't really see any others. I'd love to see Kraven though based on the "Kraven's Last Hunt."

forget about this movie(s), get the third done and then:

2017- Scorpion, Kraven
2019-Black Cat, Kraven
and then....

2021- Kraven's last hunt!

Fassbender as Kraven

With all the Venom fans and the lacklust of Spidy 3's Venom... Someone will do us right, by Venom in the near future. "Truth in Journalism." with Ryan Kwanten is great. They must do some spinoffs. The Spidy world is huge.

@ZakkPl I can see Fassbender doing Kraven, Bale would be better, long hair and the stache, but the perfect actor would be Jason Momoa. At least I think so.

ZakkPL - 12/12/2013, 2:07 PM
no no, only fassbender can do justice to kraven, russian accent( he has great language skills) and this tragic power of the hunter/lost honor of aristocracy mix, all made in Batman Begines mood. i think that could be nolans/heath ledger Joker of Marvel related movies. whole movie-rain,black suit and mad kraven-epic!

The viral marketing for this has been the coolest for me since TDK's. Reading Brock's article while he is ranting at Spider-Man AND name dropping The Enforcerers.

Wow. Just wow. Bravo, Marc Webb. Bravo!!

I'd love to see them take Venom and eventually go the route of Flash Gordon being Agent Venom. They should start with Eddie Brock though most def.

Hope this time Brock will be bigger than we saw him in SM3.

I think they're going to mix 616 and Ultimates with Venom. Maybe have Peter cost Eddie his job, and then Eddie will volunteer for the Venom project with Oscorp. Then he'll find out that Peter is Spidey and go insane going after Spidey for revenge.

Tom Hardy would be awesome as Brock, but I think they would be best to look to the MMA world for a Eddie Brock actor. He doesn't exactly need a subtle, nuanced performance. Just needs to be a bodybuilder type who can pull of bat-shit crazy.

Flash Gordon? How about Flesh Gordon? With Emporer Wang as his nemises!!!

@TheRealRemy

I though the same thing, but DDL, I don't think this kind of film is his bag, the guy live in Scottland with no power grid. Now he would really get into the part. My guess is he would spend the better part of a year in the bush of Africa just to get in to the role. He love period films. He was my first choice, but Momoa is huge and plays a "Wild Man" very well.
@ZakkPL
Fassbender, great choice, I dig it, but he has to many films on his plate. Assassin's Creed x3, Prometheus 2, More X-man films,Macbeth, and Genius. Most of those will be flming during TASM 3-4 filming times.

What I'd like to know...

The original plan was to have the Oscorp tower shown in Avengers but they ran out of time to fit it in..

If the tower DID make it in, how would TASM explain how this massive Alien attack went down but Spiderman was MIA?

Also, will TASM2 make mention of what happened in the Avengers? Are the timelines going to differ?

Surely there must be some sort of plan between Sony and Marvel (who have a very good relationship) to explain this, esp if Spiderman truly is supposed to be part of Avengers 3

Thoughts?

Only one person could play Eddie Brock.
