The next line will be:

"...I am Inferior"

Thanks god...as much as I've enjoyed the surprise and change of pace I am SOOOOOOO ready for Otto to do one and Pete to return...

Seeing how Pete will adjust to his new life i.e new GF he doesn't know, having his doctorate, owning his own company, having his own henchmen and island and spider mechs....Slott has set stories up for years to come!!!

I can't believe I am going to say this but Slott was on the money with this one...please, please don't hate me for saying that!!!

At first I really hated Superior but now it just makes sense that they did this to show the fall of Ock and its going to make an interesting read seeing Peter adjust to the mess Ock has made, winning back the Avengers and everything.

CAN WE PLEASE GET THE WRECKING CREW IN A MOVIE!!!!!!

For every 2 steps forward Otto takes, he takes 5 steps backwards. I hope he sticks around for a while.

I don't like him challenging Cage for leadership of Mighty Avengers. He has his own spider squad to rule. And the Superior Six was a good idea, but he got too damn cocky and kinda messed it all up.

Spidey Ock just needs to be knocked off his personal pedestal a lil bit, and get his mind right.

The only good Spidey book featuring October-Spidey. If Yost was writing Superior Spider-Man I might find it half-tolerable.

I have no problems if they leave Doc Ock as a Spider-man and bring back Peter Parker too. Honestly, I'd probably continue to read Superior Spider-man with Doc Ock over Parker, but would like to see Parker back in the mix. More Agent Venom & Scarlet Spider too!

Look, it's very interesting, and the writing is actually good, but for [frick]'s sake man, time to bring Peter back. You wanna break the status quo? Do it WITH Parker, change and expand his character.

I would like Yost to take over all Spidey related writing duties.

I'm with Intruder-- Chris Yost is one of my favorite writers working for Marvel today (due almost entirely to his run on Scarlet Spider). Hell, the dude just wrote the script to Thor: The Dark World, to boot! (That is, before Joss Whedon dropped in for some last-minute rewrites-- I'm sure all of which involved snappy banter and delicious bon mots.) The guy needs more recognition.

I'm still kinda annoyed at this whole Superior Spider-Man debacle, but now that I see the shape the story is taking on, I think maybe... MAYBE... when it's finally all over, I might be able to look back, read the whole thing from start to finish, and say "huh. Well, that was an interesting story." Kinda like you can for the Clone Saga now, or Knightfall-- they're the kind of stories you can only really appreciate when they're over, because you're viewing them in hindsight, not as current events.

As it stands, though, it's still a little too close to home, too disconcerting, to see Otto Octavius trampling through Peter Parker's lives and being a gigantic asshole in the name of being a better man than Peter was. It's one thing to give Peter grief when Pete's there to bemoan his fate and work harder to set things right, but it's quite another to see a story where Peter is dead and buried while one of his greatest enemies makes a mockery of everything he stands for and dishonors his memory so thoroughly.

Parker's dignity, his integrity... those things he's always had to hold on to, no matter how much people hated him or how horribly his life may have gone... those are gone now, robbed from him by a egotistical old bastard in one spiteful act of selfishness. And now I'm supposed to root for the douchebag parading around in Peter's body?

When Peter's back and he finally has a chance to set things right (however little he may be able to), then I'll give this story a shot. But until then, the Spider-Man books are basically cancelled in my eyes (which really sucks, because they actually DID cancel Scarlet Spider-- the one book I was still reading...). And unless this story has a fantastic, redemptive return in store for Peter (and a way to make Otto into Dr. Octopus again-- he's my favorite Spidey villain when he's in the right damn body), I might have to write this one off as yet another massive waste of time and paper from the good folks at Marvel Comics.

I really like the way Yost handles dialogue and character. It's really solid. That artwork is boss too.

Spock is learning here. He's not quitting on us yet. He's going to walk away from this a better hero.
We believe in you, Spock!!

I hope this book doesn't ignore the new Mysterio that just sneaked off last issue.

I like Otto as Spidey, but only because it's a temporary thing. I like that it's a way to mess with Peter's life, he was getting a little bit to much confy with his life and job, so getting Otto to shake that a little bit won't hurt. But it's fun to see how someone else that is as smart as Peter but has another view on life approaches being Spider-Man. So I dig Spidey's run so far, but only because I know it will come to an end, and I'm curious to see how Carlie will fit in all of this

Carlie will probably be the only person willing to speak to Peter after Otto is done.
