Bryan Singer Confirms That 'Rogue' Has Been Cut From X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST
Bryan Singer has revealed that a scene described as "a rescue sequence" in next year's X-Men: Days of Future Past has now been cut from the movie, and as a result, Anna Paquin's only scene as 'Rogue' will no longer be seen. Hit the jump for further details!
Entertainment Weekly have exclusively revealed that there will be one less future scene in X-Men: Days of Future Past next year, with the result being that Anna Paquin's 'Rogue' will no longer be making an appearance in the movie. Apparently, it was a rescue sequence which would have also featured Magneto (Ian McKellen), Professor X (Patrick Stewart) and Iceman (Shawn Ashmore). Were the trio saving the powerless Rogue? "Through the editing process, the sequence became extraneous," explained director Bryan Singer. "It’s a really good sequence and it will probably end up on the DVD so people can see it. But like many things in the editing process, it was an embarrassment of riches and it was just one of the things that had to go. Unfortunately, it was the one and only sequence Anna Paquin was in, the Rogue character was in. Even though she’s in the materials and part of the process of making the film, she won’t appear in it." The scene was shot early on in production, and Singer went on to praise the True Blood star before adding that she understood his decision. How do you guys feel about this news?
