Why do these movie tie-ins at all when the art is almost always mediocre? Yeah, I know you want to milk it for all it's worth, but come on already! Enough!

YAY! Let's keep all that annoying red off my Captain America! I don't even know why it was there in the first place.
Red is a girls color.

This isn't actually canon to the MCU according to Will C. Pilgrim, who is the editor for the various MCU comics:

@willgrem Hello Mr. Pilgrim, can you light our lantern about CA:Homecoming, CA:TWS Infinite, GotG:Infinite? Are they MCU canon or Inspired?

@Aztlan1984 'Homecoming' = inspired, Infinite Comics are canon

So the Cap - Infinite and GotG - Infinite comics are canon, Homecoming is just "inspired by" the MCU, but not an official part of it, much like the many tie-in comics for the previous films that were basically advertisements for Audi, Burger King, etc.

If you're interested in what's officially canon regarding the MCU comics, check out the MCU Timeline below:

@dethpillow

Glad you found it useful.

Yeah there are a fair number of official, canon MCU comics, but even more which appear to take place in the MCU, but aren't considered canon.

The canon MCU comics are:

Captain America - The First Avenger #1-2

An adaptation of CA-TFA film.

Iron Man - I Am Iron Man #1-2

An adaptation of the first Iron Man film.

Iron Man 2 #1-2

An adaptation of the Iron Man 2 film.

Thor #1-2

An adaptation of the first Thor film.

Captain America - The First Avenger: First Vengeance #1-4

An original story that acts as both a prequel and side-story to Captain America - The First Avenger.

Iron Man 2 - Public Identity #1-3

An original story that acts as an interquel between Iron Man and Iron Man 2.

Iron Man 2 - Agents of SHIELD #1

An original story made up of three separate tales, one focusing on Fury, one focusing on Coulson, and one focusing on Black Widow (leading directly into her appearance in Iron Man 2).

The Avengers - Prelude: Fury's Big Week #1-4

A prequel to The Avengers, which shows the events of the Phase 1 films through Fury and Black Widow's eyes. This was instrumental in helping set up the MCU Timeline I did.

The Avengers - Prelude: Black Widow Strikes #1-3

Another prequel to The Avengers, following Black Widow on a mission to reclaim her BW identity from an imposter.

Iron Man 3 - Prelude #1-2

An original story set during the final battle of Avengers, explaining what Rhodey was up to and why he wasn't available during the Chitauri invasion of NYC.

Thor - The Dark World: Prelude #1-2

An original story occurring between the ending of Avengers and the beginning of Thor - The Dark World, showing Thor's adventures across the nine realms to quell the chaos that sprang up as a result of the Rainbow Bridge's destruction at the end of the first Thor.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (https://twitter.com/AgentsofSHIELD/status/417339369054162944]AoS Twitter page)

A one page little tale of Agent Fitz's birthday present. Drawn by Joe Quesada.

Captain America - The Winter Soldier: Infinite #1

An original story set between Avengers and Cap - The Winter Soldier.

Guardians of the Galaxy - Prelude #1-2

These two issues will be released in April and May, and apparently focus on Nebula before the events of the GotG film.

Guardians of the Galaxy - Infinite #1

This will be released in July, but I have no idea what it's about.

Also the various spin-off video games for the MCU films aren't considered canon.

@dethpillow

It was ok, not the 5/5 we've been led to believe. Don't get me wrong it is good it just doesn't live up to hype being spread on here in my opinion. Probably a 4/5 at best.

There are a couple of things that bugged me:

The Falcon character is just a bit silly and convenient for the plot, he also seems pretty superhuman for a normal guy or just very, very, lucky.

Some of the 'surprising' plot twists are not surprising in the slightest.

Some of the CGI was awful, particularly when they use CGI to put a mouth on another person (old person) it was just plain distracting and weird.

Based on what I watched tonight, Cap 3 will get obliterated by Supes v Bats if they were to be out at the same time.
