Russell Crowe Confirms That He Won't Return For BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN

As you may have guessed following the events of Man of Steel, Noah star Russell Crowe's time as Jor-El has indeed come to an end, and the actor confirms in the following video interview that he won't return, while also sharing his thoughts on the direction of the sequel. Check it out!

Russell Crowe's take on Jor-El was arguably the best yet, but as you can see from the interview above, the actor seems confident that he won't be reprising the role in Zack Snyder's Batman Vs. Superman. It makes sense, especially as it would take up a lot of the sequel's running time if they had to explain how Clark brought his father's A.I. consciousness back after General Zod destroyed it. Flashbacks also seem unlikely for a movie which will hopefully focus more on the relationship between Batman and Superman. What do you guys think? Sound off below!

The sequel will probably focus more on Clark Kent instead of Kal-El

It's not really surprising he is dead after all. Maybe he could reappear in a future movie as a hologram if Brainiac is the villain. I could see that working. Brainiac is known for in the past talking to Jor-El before he shrunk Kandor. So if Brainiac's involved I could see Russell returning.

"Well duh

He's dead!!!"

That didn't seem to stop the filmmakers from continuing to throw him into the story after his "death" on Krypton though. Do they not realize how anti-climactic it is to show his tragic death at the very beginning...and then continue to use him throughout the film under the excuse that he's simply an AI?, and then "kill" him off again?

It's almost surprising they're restraining themselves from coming up with some reason to use him in the sequel as well.

Man of Steel was ultimately disappointing to me but I love the Krypton scenes and Russell Crowe is the man. I could see him coming back down the road if they ever adapted Johns' Brainiac storyline.
