SPIDER-MAN Producers Taking 'Carnage' Appearance In VENOM "Into Consideration"

Well, it appears that the mention of Cletus Kasady in that Daily Bugle viral may have meant something after all, as The Amazing Spider-Man 2 producers Matt Tolmach and Avi Arad have now strongly hinted at an appearance from Carnage in the planned spin-off for Venom. Check it out!

"What a great idea," Avi Arad replied coyly when asked about the chances of Carnage making an appearance in Venom. It's interesting to watch his reaction, while Matt Tolmach's response was equally as vague but just as intriguing. "Exactly. The idea of Venom and Carnage… taking it into consideration. Watch out for this Venom movie. We are crazy excited." While that's not confirmation either way, it does sound as we should expect to see the insane Cletus Kasady make an appearance. After all, it's hard to think of a better foe for Eddie Brock...not including Spider-Man that is! What do you guys think? Be sure to sound off with your thoughts on this news below.

Why are they trying to run before they walk? Why are we hearing anything about Venom when Peter has not even donned the symbiote? We need this to come to life perfectly before we go jumping ahead to Venom and his spawn...

So will Carnage be a sympathetic character? As we know, Arad and Tolmach don't believe in real villains.

This is Sony we are dealing with. They love to run before they can walk.

Carnage will probably end up being a character we're supposed to feel sorry for. Because there is no such thing as evil.

Great news. I've been wanting to see my favorite Cletus grace the screen for a long time.

Favorite fan cast - Jim Carrey

I'm sure it'll be a redemption story for both of them. Brock and Kasady trying to get rid of the symbiotes so they can live happily ever after.

I'm sure its a great opportunity for you Avi Arad, but [frick] you.

I never got why Carnage was so appealing in the 90s. Well, at any given time, really. I think fans are in for a major disappointment.

Look at all the villains Arad has written in this franchise and see if you notice anything:

Green Goblin - Has distant relationship with son. Loses military contract and gets removed from Oscorp by the board of directors. Feels he has no choice but to try experimental formula on himself. Develops schizophrenia post-serum and "Goblin" persona separate to who he really is.
Doctor Octopus - Has plan for sustainable energy to help the world. Wife dies in explosion he caused. Tentacles bonded to his spine develop artificial intelligence and control him. Ultimately sacrifices himself to save the city.
New Goblin - Distant relationship with father. Father killed (he thinks) by Spider-Man, who is also his best friend. Girlfriend stolen by same best friend. Ultimately sacrifices himself to save Peter.
Sandman - Stole money to pay for treatment for sick daughter. Escapes from prison to see daughter; accidentally falls into particle accelerator. It's revealed he killed Uncle Ben, but the gun went off by accident. He asks Spider-Man for forgiveness at the end.
Venom - Loses job because of Peter. Has his camera smashed by Symbiote Spider-Man. Goes to church and gets infected with the Symbiote.
-
Lizard - Working on cell regeneration to try and help amputees like himself. Gets fired from Oscorp. Injects himself with experimental serum. Goes mad. Surrenders after killing Captain Stacy. Gets put in Psychiatric Hospital.
Electro - Alienated by the world and his co-workers. Idolizes Spider-Man. Accidentally gets transformed into an electric-powered being. Reveals himself in Time Square and gets ridiculed by Spider-Man and shot at by the police.
RHINO - ?
Green Goblin - Father dies. Left with the responsibility of Oscorp. ?

Yeah, they're all presented as justifiable, sympathetic villains. No one is just an asshole for asshole's sake.

A Venom movie desperatley needs to be rated 'R'. Venom is already a killer. How will they make Carnage feel like a psychotic, when there is already a killer in Venom. The stakes need to be higher.
