BOX OFFICE: CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER Likely To Stay At #1 For Fourth Week

Not bad considering the fact that it initially looked like the Marvel Studios sequel would only hold the top spot for a single week, eh? Despite competition from The Other Woman, Captain America: The Winter Soldier does indeed look set to stay at #1. Read on for details!

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will take the top spot next weekend, but for now, another superhero sequel is dominating the North American box office. Despite the fact that The Other Woman (starring Cameron Diaz, Leslie Mann, Kate Upton, and Game of Thrones' Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) is opening today, Entertainment Weekly believes that the romantic comedy will earn only around $13 million this weekend. Captain America: The Winter Soldier on the other hand is set to earn around $15 million over the next few days, and while it's possible that these numbers will alter slightly depending on word of mouth and the like, the fact that the Marvel Studios sequel will more than likely have a fourth straight week at #1 could mean that they reconsider moving Captain America 3's release date from its current May 6th, 2016 slot (and away from Batman Vs. Superman) to an April slot in which it can find a similar level of success.

Cap kicking ass foot a whole month. Deserves all of it. April has been weak, especially Haunted House 2. That movie was some bullshit. Go Cap!!

Now they've jinxed Cap! The last two weeks, forecasters predicted he'd finish 2nd, and he pulled the upset both weeks. I don't like these tea-leaf-readers saying Cap's going to top the charts again. They really won't have any idea until late Friday evening, at the earliest.

And that's like 3.2 billion profit, as the films only cost 200M $ to make.

Not surprised at all. Such an awesome movie!

@DIAMONDZ Same here. Her boobs are amazing. If they ever adapt Baywatch to the big screen, she needs to be cast as a lifeguard.

Okay, I expected (and wanted) this film to do well but 4 weeks in the top slot exceeds my expectations. Money be damned, this film has earned its praise.
