Oscar Isaac Eyed For STAR WARS EPISODE VII; Harrison Ford Has "Gigantic Role" In New Trilogy

J.J. Abrams is hosting a table read for Star Wars Episode VII in London tomorrow, with the cast set to attend. The latest names to have surfaced in connection with the movie are Oscar Isaac, Adam Driver and John Boyega, while Harrison Ford's Han Solo will have a big role in the first of the new trilogy!

According to Deadline, Inside Llewyn Davis star Oscar Isaac is now being eyed for a major role in Star Wars Episode VII, as are previously rumoured candidates Adam Driver (Tracks) and John Boyega (Attack the Block). Oxford trained actress and relative unknown Maisie Richardson-Sellers' name has also resurfaced, and the site unfortunately has no word on who any of these actors will be playing. They do however reveal that, "The big surprise, I’m told, is that Ford has a gigantic role in the first of the next three films." That's definitely unexpected, but very welcome news! Expect to hear something official about the cast on May 4th, a.k.a. Star Wars Day. How do you guys feel about this news? Be sure to sound off with your thoughts in the usual place!

If Maisie Richardson-Sellers is playing Obi-Wan's granddaughter and not 1) a brand new character or two 2) Lando's daughter, then this movie is doomed before it even begins.

Oscar Isaac was incredible in Inside Llewyn Davis. That movie was snubbed a Best Picture nomination

Hopefully they adapt the Thrawn trilogy, they have so many great stories they could tell in the Staw Wars universe, if I see one more JarJar type character I'll be pissed. Hopefully now that Disney owns the material they will Kill it. Look what they've let Marvel do

@MrBlackJack

I would've loved to see Han and Leia die "Watchmen-style" at the hands of some assassin or villain,

with Luke Skywalker taking on the responsibility of raising their twins.

I trust Abrams, though.

Oscar Isaac is amazing, too, hopefully that's true. Not just because of his acting but because I can see him being an ally or a villain, or both? *hint hint* ;)

Wishful thinking, I know.

@DaVinci

With Harrison Ford still commanding a lot of Star power and Mark Hamill not exactly being the pretty boy he once was I'd say odds are Luke gets the Watchmen style death in the first episode and Solo continues on with the younger gang. Though I would probably like it better your way.

Also Oscar Isaac is wonderful and would make a great villain, or (less likely) a great hero

I'm seriously completely 100% out at this point. Should not have brought back the original 3 for anything more than a cameo. Such garbage.

Ol' Hamill isn't looking too bad, actually

Can't resist that Ford star power, though.
